their emotions are the core cause of abstraction. and its not exactly easy to be happygolucky with everything after (possibly) losing your life to a game and getting sucked and stuck in it for god knows how long (or forever)

chances of them returning to their ordinary lives, to the real world seems slimmer and slimmer the longer they stay there. and its maddening to even think about their bodies laying unconscious, uncared for and unfed that they couldve died without even knowing it.

theyre all chronically depressed characters in general. and theyve seen what these overbearing emotions can do. so theres no better way to escape this kaleidoscopic mess of emotions than a good fuck. i mean, its human. after all, they lost the one thing that made them feel human. being one.

what Pomni asked was an important question. "what would you do if id abstract tomorrow?" and Jax said hed move on. yet, he hasnt moved on from the other(s).

Jax is an independent character -he doesnt want to be seen as weak. he doesnt even allow himself to be vulnerable. and thats costing him. while all the rest of the characters talk to each other when theyre feeling low, Jax shrugs himself off. in fact, its almost like hes given up on his own life. he came to terms that he might actually be dead. that hell never get out of the game. but whenever he talks about it, he phrases it as if its some kind of freedom.

"nothings real."

"were all just cartoon characters."

"we can do whatever we want."

"you care too much."

the real question might just be, if hed abstract tomorrow, what would the others do?

he knows hes been terrible towards them, its practically his own thing. so much that hes used to it. that he doesnt expect anyone to care -or maybe he doesnt want anyone to care? maybe he thinks that he deserves it, because of something that he mightve done in the past.

Ragatha has always been kind towards everyone. she knows something about Jax that the rest doesnt know about too. this shows that the two have once been friends before. that Jax had once allowed himself be vulnerable and now regrets it, so he pushed her away. because she cared. but when Pomni tries to care, he pushes her away, and later, was about to abstract. why?

hes been awful towards everyone and maybe he doesnt expect anyone to be kind back. like Zooble. shes clearly so done with his bullshit, thats the same fire hes trying to rile out of people so much. maybe thats why he doesnt like Ragatha so much. because shes too kind.

he copes with his own grief by hurting others, pushes anyone remotely close to him right away and hed never let himself seek any kind of help or get someone to talk to. that might actually cost him in the future.

but like, imagine if Jax ever did decide to apologize or someone forced him to and he agreed begrudgingly but it was already too late
