Detective conan AU where Shinichi is homeless
The idea is WHAT IF after shrinking and running from the police, he didn't make it home so Agasa doesn't know anything, Ran never found him and he never decided to live with her .
I'm surprised that his little body managed to walk all the way home. So what if he doesn't ? He slept at the street that night where no one paid any attention to him.
After a night's sleep, he realizes that no one is going to believe him because the situation is just too crazy like the first time he tried to explain it.
Shinichi still remembers their laughter at his despair and he realizes that if he were in their shoes, he probably wouldn't believe it either.
He's alone and he finds himself thinking more and more about those men in black. He realizes that maybe this is something much bigger than he ever imagined.
He realizes he's supposed to be dead and decides not to go home (he doesn't even have the strength to do so anyway).
At some point, he'll surely be taken in by someone concerned about this very young child who seems to have been abandoned. Shinichi would help that person in one way or another and then leave.
Shinichi knows that sooner or later the person will end up contacting the police about him and he doesn't want to be found and put in a shelter or something like that.
So he decides to go to the red-light districts, where he's less likely to be reported and which are also known for having homeless teenagers who have run away from abusive homes.
The thing is, Shinichi is kind-hearted by nature (and kinda cursed). So he ends up helping a lot of people in the red-light districts and manages to make a few connections. Bar owners and other people offer him a place to stay, taking turns.
It often baffles them that a small child (who's barely three apples tall) tries to save and help everyone, even the people who hurt him or tried to kill him but that’s how he wins their hearts.
Shinichi is more paranoid and more careful about keeping his real identity hidden.
He's always wearing gloves and also got fake glasses.
His fake name would be Yuuto ? Idk but not Conan. A more common Japanese name to avoid drawing attention.
He's desperate to get his body back and he's really worried about Ran but he's too scared to see her.
He's reported missing by the police.
His parents managed to find him and are begging him to run away to with them.
He refuses then finally compromises by letting them and Agasa at least help him a little.
Shinichi still wants to reassure Ran and tells her that he's alive.
They're both going through the worst time of their lives.
Kogoro is a better detective bc Ran is devastated. He takes cases more seriously as if they involved his loved ones. He's not the best but not that bad.
Shinichi somehow befriends the Detective Boys and their parents kinda think he's just their imaginary friend.
A drunk man gave him the chinese liquor when he was sick and it turned him back for a moment. Those who witnessed that thought it was just their imagination. (Some of them stopped taking drugs after that.)
