TIL that this “finest flower” line from Elliott wasn’t supposed to be about himself! ConcernedApe commented on a Reddit post that this is a bit of dialogue Elliott is supposed to give you when the player marries LEAH, and CA made a mistake while implementing it

i think it’s so sweet that Elliott cares about Leah so much… but it’s also pretty funny that until CA said something, nobody was able to figure out that this wouldn’t be a line Elliott says about himself because he’s just… like that, lol

while i wouldn’t say this is always good advice in real life, lol, i prefer reading this as a subtle way to help the player understand the relationships mechanics in SDV. more importantly, though, i think this is a really nice bit of characterization for Elliott: the idea that he rather assume the best in others, and has a sympathetic view towards people that he doesn’t necessarily have the best opinion of

as a huge Elliott fan, i take his advice seriously, so i personally am going to try giving the grumpy blacksmith a chance :)

when you invite someone to the Shooting Star Festival there'll be at least one character with dialogue commenting on it the next day. Elsie of course always has a line of dialogue along the lines of "did you two have a nice time last night? ;)" and then at least one other character, usually a family member, will say something like "wow X sure seems to be in a good mood today"

beside's Elsie's comment, this is the only special dialogue you get after taking Juniper, and i think it's very interesting
