my shading looks sort of.. flat? i love how unique and pleasing to the eye the colors and shading are in your art
Since I don’t think I’ve ever seen your shading technique, something you can try is not using grey based colors or black and using cell shading. I don’t remember what the other kind of shading is called, but I use a combination of that and cell shading.
Sorry abt the thing that says google idk that just popped up and it’s stuck on my screen now. So I’ll do the flat colors and w skin shading specifically, I’ll get a warmer color that's slightly darker than the flat skin tone and sorta do a wash over the cheek and nose area, neck and collar bones, shoulders, knees, so on and so forth.
So it’ll look like this. Then I take a darker, warmer, color and cell shade.
I like to shade the upper lip, under the eyebrows, at the side of the face for the appearance of cheekbones, and under the eyes so they stand out more. Anywhere where the light wouldn’t hit. I dunno. I’m bad at this. Obviously. Shrugggg.
