the brand ambassadors i believe are rotated out (which is why you’ll see tweets from a day ago from a different person than that in the bio of the account) because amazon buys PR twitter accounts through some other company sprinklr i believe (you can tell the troll accounts from the real ones because the real ones all were posted using sprinklr twitter will say) and then give people incentive to post by giving them coupons or a small bit more an hour but mostly just a break from warehouse work for part of their shift.

of course this isnt necessarily the only form of astroturfing that amazon is doing, and former amazon employees have talked about how all over the company bathrooms theres posters incentivizing people to post positively on their personal social media for ‘rewards’ too

regardless of it being actual people and not bots its pretty equally disingenuous and dystopian and its really upsetting seeing how transparently fucked up it all is when you see interactions like this

lastly, note from this exchange below how amazon is trying to spin it as “employees willingly spend time writing these tweets because they are passionate about sharing their positive experience working here” when by their own admission (and friends of mine who have worked there voiced similar), the employees who spend time on shift doing this instead of warehouse work often do so because they are exhausted and it is their only opportunity to take a break from physical labor for the work week
