RIP to the legend
This goose fucking rocks and had a crazy life!
I really just have to summarize Thomas's entire life:
He was in a committed relationship with a male swan named Henry for 18-24 years before a female swan named Henrietta showed up and mated with Henry.
Thomas was initially jealous of the pair and attacked them, breaking 2 of the 5 eggs Henrietta had laid. However, once the remaining eggs hatched, Thomas warmed up to them and helped raise them.
Henry couldn't fly because of an injured wing, so Thomas taught the cygnets how to fly.
When they needed to reduce the goose population in the pond where Thomas and the swans lived, they dyed Thomas's feathers red so he wouldn't be separated from Henry.
Henry, Henrietta, and Thomas remained in their happy throuple for years and raised 68 cygnets before Henry died in 2009. After Henry's death, Henrietta found another swan and flew away, leaving Thomas alone.
Thomas finally met and mated with a female goose in 2011 and had his own babies. However, another goose named George stole them and raised them himself.
As Thomas grew elderly and blind, he was relocated to a wildlife center where he raised orphaned cygnets.
His caretaker at the center described him as "pretty high maintenance."
Thomas died in 2018 at the age of around 40. He had a funeral that included a small coffin and a procession that was led by a bagpiper. He was buried under the stone where Henry was buried, the two finally reunited in death.
Before and after his death, Thomas has been celebrated as an icon of the LGBTQ+ community for obvious reasons.

frankly I don't see the problem with selling food that turns you into a demon girl at the festival. they look cute and their expressions when your stall mysteriously vanishes are awesome. this is what horns day was originally about, tricking humans using cursed items with permanent consequences.
a walk on the cliff
when i was a kid there was a big spider that lived in our kitchen. we called it a wolf spider bc we had some in the cellar, but probably it was a giant european house spider. also my mom worked for the county newspaper, where she wrote a featured front-page column every sunday. more on that later. i named the spider something very silly, a completely made up word (can't say the name bc it could doxx me) and one winter morning our furnace was broken and the Furnace Guy came to fix it. me and my siblings were sat in the kitchen eating breakfast before school when he walked in the door (we used the kitchen door as our main entrance instead of the actual front door) and while he was talking to my mom, our spider skittered out from under a counter. he went "WOAH THAT'S HUGE!" and as we all yelled "NO" in an instant but what felt like slow motion, he killed our spider with one stomp.
i immediately began wailing and my siblings were themselves in uproar. the guy was mortified. i guess if you crawl around in cellar furnaces for a living, stomping spiders might become deeply instinctual to you. but i think he might have began to second-guess himself after that.
already he was deeply apologetic. you could tell he felt really bad for what he'd done and that perhaps he was reconsidering his stomp-stance on spiders. so to this day i become almost hysterical with laughter when i imagine what he must have felt picking up the newspaper from his front steps that next weekend, the special, full-color sunday issue with all the extra content, to see the front-page, left-hand column, a Eulogy to our spider.

This needs to be immortalized because it's what made me turn on the sound. And they were right
