... what I'm reading (books):
I just finished reading The Faith of Beasts by James SA Corey, which I thoroughly enjoyed; and am working my way through the audiobook of The Book of Elsewhere by Keanu Reeves and China Mieville, which reminds me that Keanu Reeves is a gifted storyteller and also that I wish China Mieville learned how to actually describe military weapons and machinery rather than just lazily using their names like it's going to mean anything to an average reader (probably not an issue, I should point out, to an average China Mieville reader, I imagine).
That is to say, this kind of hard SF is generally not for me, but I keep getting hooked by the actual humans going through human stuff that happens between all the techno-babble bullshit.

Honnleath by Happenstance_and_Algorithms, part 3 in The Lion's Words which I will never stop screaming, crying, throwing up about.
War of Hearts by @celestialteapot, which devastated me in the best way! I think I've grazed several bits of their series The Heart of the Storm and eat it up every time I encounter a piece of it!
Likewise, Release by @bluebirdwrykes has me in a chokehold because Cullen/Lavellan/Rylen??? HELL YES, SIGN ME THE EFF UP.

The World Cup has got me right in the reggaeton. "DAI DAI" is a certified banger, and it led me down a rabbit hole of world cup songs 😂
Still obsessed with "The Arsonist's Lullaby" by Hozier and "Lose Control" by Teddy Swims as tunes for my The Character, and "The Loneliest" by Måneskin for my other The Character. 😭
Just finished The Vampire Lestat (season three of Interview with the Vampire) and WOW OKAY SO WE'RE JUST GOING TO SPEND APPROXIMATELY TWO (2) MINUTES WITH AKASHA AND THEN END ON THAT KIND OF MOTHERFUCKING (heh) CLIFFHANGER??! Rude.
(I read these books in the 90s, people, there's no such thing as major plot spoilers anymore and I'm purposely not bringing up any of the awesome twists and changes to the original story because those *would be* spoilers.)
Dragon Age, always. This is a given. I'm finishing up the DLC on a second run of DA2 before going in on a third (?) Inquisition run. Imma try out a Saarebas Inquisitor who falls for Dorian 😈😈😈
This was my first experience of Mark of the Assassin and I gotta say Felicia Day's character would probably have been really cool to me if I had played it when it first came out.
I'm also playing a lot of Hades II and Slay the Spire lately.
All the summer fruits and vegetables I can get my hands on! I grow raspberries and tomatoes, and I live less than 5 miles from a local produce stand that only stocks stuff from local farms so I'm not as worried about killer lettuce.
Staving off a nervous breakdown while filing multiple grievances and ULPs against my managers via my union. This shit's been ongoing for nearly a year. I don't generally talk about this stuff online, tbh, and will probably not get into it any more than I already have.
... what I'm doing to touch grass:
My job is too public-service oriented for me to be unaware of what's going on in the world. I touch a lot of grass at work and I need escapism especially badly these days to keep my mind off of the freshest horrors when I'm at home.

... what's giving me hope:
All the neat personal stories and anecdotes coming from the World Cup. Like, VOZINHA! And Tim Payne becoming overnight famous in South America! And Lamine Yamal finally getting his vengeance for the worst baby photo shoot ever! And the intense love affair between Mexico and Korea! And the Tartan Army coning statues and drinking Boston dry! And best (kissing) bros Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham!
... what's so true to me right now:
I am not my job, and I don't need to cede any extra time and energy to it until I am treated like the professional I am. I don't have to bend over backwards and wreck my mental health for a bunch of people who don't care either way.
