If they want us to like him, why not make him genuinely nicer in some way? No, instead just have him abuse Louis and Claudia, cheat on Nicki, cheat on Louis, insult and devalue Armand as well as sexually objectify him, a former child sex slave who was groomed, bully and disrespect Daniel after he (or his people) HIRES him to set the story straight, and not just murder but torture humans (for funsies). Yup, he’s a real winner. Eye roll. He can call Armand soulless all he wants but he is the one who is soulless.

Armand, for all his flaws, is a far more interesting and a far more likable character—even cutting off Louis’ head, I still think he has more of a moral compass and is far kinder in every conceivable way. And don’t tell me he’s a liar who killed Claudia. Don’t care. Lestat intended to help kill Louis and Claudia too when he returned to Paris for the trial. He is GUILTY and yet the show and Louis completely absolve him of his crimes. I honestly do not understand how people ship Louis and Lestat. From season 1 I have never seen an ounce of romance from either one, just cheating, manipulation, lust, and violence. What is their love even built on?

This quote is so embarrassing when you look at how silent and stagnant the fandom has become, like are you sure about that, buddy? You really think the fans who spent years without new content and so took it upon themselves to populate the zeitgeist with their own material for the first two seasons who have now dropped TVL after a handful of weeks are gonna come back to the show and only watch season 3? Like for realsies? Do you not see how instaneously the hype was killed by your interpretation of The Vampire Lestat? Like there truly is no way you can't not look at a fandom that has thrived on so little for so long and see just how dead it became the second season 3 was done airing and think you actually made something good unless you're so far up your own ass you don't even remember what sunlight looks like

added 1: Louis goes to Lestat only when he's at his lowest (even Rolin said something had to happen to Louis so he'd go back to Lestat). that's not Lestat's fault (ehhh), but it doesn't seem like a good thing, does it?

added 2: Louis keeps asking for his help and Lestat makes sure Louis feels awful about it and that he should absolutely be grateful that Lestat dropped rehearsal (*gasps in horror*) to help Louis who was grieving the daughter Lestat helped killed, cause Louis didn't check on Lestat after he got shot, which could not even injure him for more than a couple of minutes.

and whilst s1 and s2 were (mostly) framed as Lestat loving Louis but also hurting him, s3 is framed as Lestat claiming he loves Louis, whilst he seems like he doesn't even like him (you can't like a person and treat them like that, even in the evil vampire show lol) and all of these behaviours were normal, something that Louis not only deserved but Louis has to apologise for. frame it as Lestat's POV. Show it to us as how abusers see their victims. the audience keeps watching each episode expecting to finally finally see it as it is, but Rolin & Hannah said "actually only the people of colour in this show are to blame for everything wrong that ever happened, including the actions of white people". dead serious.
