THE WAKE #4 (2013) A moody cover of a sea beast watching a submarine in this series run by Vertigo, Adding water to a problem is a great way to amp up the horror and raise the stakes.

MICRONAUTS #43 (1983) A great and gruesome cover from the Marvel Micronauts line with a character that is very reminiscent or Metallo from the Superman Comic series.

Venomized #1 (2018) Sketchcover by Caspar Wijngaard, Here we see a black & white cover of Venom Spaceknight from the 2013, a very under rated design for Venom. https://casparnovacomics.tumblr.com/

ROM #1 (2016) Here is a sketchcover of ROM done by Anthony Lee done at comic con as well as a sketch of him done by another artist called Nomi Rama. 

Revolution Miconauts  #1 (2016) Cover Art: 2018 by Jonny Padbury, A sketchcover of Acroyear on a blank Micronauts cover, here I’ve digitally colored the artwork though I’m also presenting the original black & white version for comparison.

Justice League America #206 (1982) One of the few JLA titles in my collection I really enjoy the deck of cards visuals on this artwork and the villains are just an awesomely silly concept even if they end up saddled with groan inducing puns like you see on the bottom right corner.

The Avengers #179 (1978). Part of an unusual two part story featuring the character Bloodhawk who somewhat resembles a demented version of Hawkman. Despite the interesting appearance and science related backstory this story-line is the only time this character has appeared.

Detective Comics #297 (1961) I have a weakness for covers featuring giant lizard monsters and this pink monstrosity fits that quite nicely despite it’s puzzling perspective issues particually regarding where batman is standing in relation to the beast, also it features a retro 9d stamp marking it as a copy of the comic shipped to the UK for sale.

Venom #6 (2003), A great 00′s Venom cover, seen here in a cool tribal purple style, oddly the 2011 digital version recolors this cover to a more pink color though I prefer the original look.

Kicker’s Inc #2 (1986) One of the New Universe Marvel titles from the late 80′s. It brought in more realistic storylines.. though it still had weird situations like this one.

Weird Fantasy #6 (Originally 1951, 1994 Reprint), This is one of the reprints of the classic EC comic series, between different versions they altered the covers in various ways and on this one one example is they made the police robot blue, overall I’ve found I actually prefer this recolored cover to how it appeared originally as it looks much more zingy and bright.

Spiderman 2099 #1 (1992) A classic spin off to the main series, sadly this example highlights the deficiencies of scanners as it renders the bright foil cover a more dull flat red, fortunately most comics gave up on this trend so it’s not a common issue.

The Man Thing #20 (1975) Here we see Marvel’s Plant Mutant decking it out with three famous characters (and Shang-Chi who I’d never heard of before) He has no relation to DC’s Swamp Thing, they just sorta came into existence around the same time.

Action Comics #429  (1973) A very bright and eye catching Action Comics cover here, also at some point it was shipped & sold in the UK as seen by the 7p stamp affixed to it.

Marvel Team Up #34 (1975) Here we see the return one one of the more stranger villains: Meteor Man, Aside from his fabulous pink attire one of his more embarrassing moments was when he got an “Ultimate” Wedgie from Spiderman during the events of Dark Rein 

Marvel Spotlight on... #5 (1979) A really fantastic cover here from the late 70′s, Though I admit my scalie leanings had me rooting for the Dragon to win.

The Amazing Spiderman #45 (1967) Here we have two of the same #Spiderman comic in a UK variation, this serves as a good example for how different copies of the same comic wear and age differently, with one suffering from losing a chunk of paper in the top corner and other having residue from a price sticker once covering it’s 10d price mark as the most glaring differences.
