2025 Megaman Summer Fanart Contest Results (All the Art!)
Once more, sorry for the longer-than-usual delay to getting this posted. But um, sure, I'll pretend I was waiting to drop this on the day we got the Star Force Legacy Collection announced! Totally why I waited until today, when everyone will be talking about that instead of seeing this post. ^^; Well, maybe that will help visibility, too.
Will have to split this into multiple parts due to the size of things again, so to start off, we'll begin with the main focus, which was your artwork!
As I ran behind on this, and due to cramming all the art into a single post, I will try to keep comments a little shorter than usual. But if you would like me to talk more about your art elsewhere, I certainly can. Not meant to shortchange all of your efforts, but I know my results posts often get too long.
Participation raffle prize winners will follow in separate posts, due to having videos for each. Just because I wanted to visualize the raffle experience for everyone.
CATEGORY 1: Ariga Amalgamix
For this category, participants were asked to draw tribute art to manga artist Hitoshi Ariga. This included drawing Mega Man characters replicating his unique style and design, in a mixup of something familiar from his manga and something new featuring characters that he has never included in them.
As usual, y'all made it very hard to choose how to place this, with some fabulous entries! Thank you all for your efforts and creative ideas! With a theme like this, things went in a lot of directions.

For the sheer amount of characters in this tribute collage piece, along with it's epic, dynamic feel, Pikapulu takes the top spot in this category. Merging Ariga's style beautifully with the infamous bad box art versions from the Mega Man 10 triptych.
2.) @purplerubyred [Pic] ($75 US Winner!)
As if fighting one sun-powered god-like robot wasn't enough, Rock would have his work cut out for him also dealing with the threat from Apollo from Rockman Strategy at the same time! Really epic and ominous vibe to Ruby's piece, that would work as an equally amazing Gigamix cover!
3.) @tsurabe [Pic] ($50 USD Winner!)
Your overall coloring and shading in this pic is fantastic! Nice composition balance, the effects are rockin', and very solid!

Wait, we were supposed to get him off the moon, not get the Earth off of him! Really enjoy the expression of fear on Volnutt's face, and the typical Tabby hair focus and glowy effects on the piece!

Loved the concept of the Gemini pairs in a three-legged race against one another. Should have been an easy win for the Ariga pair, when one is just a hologram, but then again, maybe Queen Ophiuchus was around to scare him. Poor Bright Man, but on the plus side, I guess he did prevent a goal from being scored!

Speaking of soccer, if there's one thing you can count on PStart drawing besides Yuna Megaman Legends 2, it's Mega Man Soccer! Loved the 4Koma tribute concept, and adorable all around!

Space and Stardroids were what many of us gravitated to from Ariga's work, weren't they? Lumine's work on the Jakob orbital elevator landed him a meeting with an FM King on a not-so-dark moon. The space background turned out really pretty in this!

Ninja and fishy ladies are not all equal in the Mega Man universe, despite how similar they might all seem. Certainly a thought I, and I'm sure others, have had about this particular quartet, and gave me a good chuckle.
CATEGORY 2: Mega Mannequins
For this category, entrants were tasked with drawing Mega Man characters modeling summer fashion in a retail store window display, using a shop name/logo from somewhere in the Mega Man universe.

Well, retail seasons always do get a bit far ahead of themselves, I know that. So sure, swimwear in the winter! This pic brings back memories of walking downtown and seeing the window displays at Christmas time for me, and went outside the box a little with the seasonal juxtaposition. Love the detail in both Ciel and Zero's outfits!
2.) @voidmetal-alloy [Pic] ($75 USD Winner!)
I loved the creativity of the gang's outfits tying into actual items you can purchase at Big Eddies! Uniquely personifying them, while also making clever sense for all three of Roll, Rock and Bass.
3.) Mattasaurs: [Pic] ($50 USD Winner!)
Animal bots in novelty swim trunks amuse me greatly. As does having to literally tie Storm Eagle to the ceiling. XD

Old animation that sat around for a while on my iPad, so I tidied it up a bit to upload here. Anyone else excited for Procreate Dreams btw?? I use RoughAnimator for animation on my iPad but Dreams looks a lot more involved/feature heavy. I don’t have a Pro model though, so hopefully it won’t cause lesser machines to combust…

dear non-spanish speakers writing spiderverse fanfiction (or anything with spanglish),
in spanglish you don’t switch by word, you switch by phrase.
it’s not:
“[first part of the sentence in english], [second part of the sentence in english], mi amor.”
“[full english sentence], querida.”
it’s:
“[first part of the sentence in english], [segunda parte de la frase en español], mi amor.”

also miles is boricua, miguel is mexican. they have two different accents and use different vocabulary for certain words.
also miles is “nyourican” - a puerto rican native to new york - while his mom is directly from the island, so there are differences there, too, because his spanish is more influence by new york english.

in spanish most words are gendered, so most feminine words end in a and masculine/gender neutral words end in o. adding ito/ita makes something cuter, smaller and more affectionate.
spanish nicknames that aren’t “mi amor”
“querido/a” - darling
“cariño” - dear (always masculine regardless, of who its being said to)
“mi princesa/príncipe” - my prince/princess
“mi rey/reina” - my king/queen
“papí/mamí” - can be used in any way; romantic, sexual, familial for one’s parent or child, or just platonically
“tesoro” - treasure
also spanish is a language that uses adjectives as terms of affection both cute ones and ones that might sound insensitive in english
gordo (fat), flaco (skinny), negro (black), blanco (white), linda (pretty), bella (beautiful), morena (brown skin), etc.
and like most languages that are not english, spanish has multiple ways of saying i love you.
“te amo” - romantic
“te quiero” - familial, platonic (although there’s nothing wrong with using it romantically)

please use this because i have read a lot of really well written things that take me out of it because the use of spanglish is terrible. don’t just go on your presumptions that spanish/spanglish works in the same way that english does.
