before, i think i had given rainwings a vague butterfly-inspired design theme, with those big butterfly wing ears. now i’d rather confine butterfly themes to silkwings, so i’ve instead given rainwings a flower motif, inspired by the awesome way @/rotten-m3 draws glory. these flower frills can be smoothed or fluffed up at will and to emphasize emotions, show off, etc… the size and shape of them can also vary quite a bit from rainwing to rainwing. also of course, colors and markings are highly variable.

look at the old house in the dawn rain all the flowers are forms of water the sun reminds them through a white cloud touches the patchwork spread on the hill the washed colors of the afterlife that lived there long before you were born see how they wake without a question even though the whole world is burning
