I saw something online where a RPG player’s little girl referred to his gaming group as his “dice family”. This is one of the most wonderful things I have ever heard.

Thought that appeared rent-free in my brain last night while I was trying to sleep:
D&D conservation science. D&D invasive species biologists.
Big carved sign outside of a dungeon reading
Gelatinous cubes are an INVASIVE SPECIES in this area
Gelatinous cube spores can survive on metal surfaces for 50+ years!
Keep our dungeons safe!

Thank you for this concept

this is saved on my desktop with the title ‘Every D&D Campaign Ever’
Day 6: Husky
Husky can mean big and strong.
As a DM, I think sometimes people can put too much, or maybe slightly misplaced, stock in a DM for certain parts of running a campaign.
When you have experienced or roleplay-talented players some of the best moments can be created by them. I once sat back for a good 15 minutes, maybe more, just watching my players have an intensely emotional series of scenes with feelings of guilt and betrayal and genuine tears, all by themselves. I may have run the events that had led up to that and moved from scene to scene but really the credit is with my players.
I think DMs have a hell of a big job and we're the great overseers in creating a good overarching story, but I think players are due a lot of credit too.
[OC] I laid out what a 5’ by 5’ square was in real life to help my players get some perspective on just how big each map square is.

Every DnD party in a nutshell
D&D is a wild experience when you’re invested, you’re simultaneously playing a game, creating a narrative, and become a fandom??? so you and your friends can talk for hours about your characters and theories while guarding character secrets to not spoil anything and then think ‘i can’t wait for the next episode’, while knowing you’ll actually be collaboratively generating content, but are still like ‘i cant believe my dumbass child did that’
