People (kids) younger than me might not know who Paul McCartney is. When he did that song with Kanye and Rihanna called "FourFiveSeconds," people asked who he was. You know, YouTube commenters or people on Twitter.
I think this means they might not know who Stevie Wonder is either. Is that possible? The only thing that’s for sure is that they know who Michael Jackson is. That's 100% guaranteed if you live in America. Most people on the planet probably know who he was, right? Was he the most famous person...?
Or: Einstein, a certain individual in power now, Barack Obama, Jay-Z, Kanye West - I'm focusing on music too much - I guess Kim Kardashian, ummm... Paris Hilton (does anybody still talk about her?). Plus Arden Yonkers, Matt Lippman, Erin Pellnat, etc - household names. It's difficult for them to order their latte or pizza slice.
I suppose that because of my association with these individuals, I should phase out my performances at Pine Box Rock Shop, Trans Pecos and Troost and trade them for more high profile engagements. Or, one can always try to "pull a Prince," performing at Madison Square Garden and then having your driver take you to Brooklyn Bowl or Mercury Lounge to jam.
