Summer’s morning light. Bzz! says

The honey maker.

I used to stay in the

bath for hours. Back when

my body was small, and my

conscience was clean.

I would pretend I was

in another world,

but I wasn’t.

Life is one door away,

I know that now.

after the demon tastes my tongue, visions

of surrogate lives dance before me.

this flask is the fountain of youth,

and I see cerebellum as I live through

83 years. my soul is reinstated.

it was only a dream.

Will you be my date, for the

End of the world? We can go

To Northtown and sneak amongst

The skeletons to watch Three,

Again. We can hike the Corkscrew

And burn every sign that says “we own this earth”

As if that was something even

Possible. We can play pool in a

Deserted Derby, no regrets in sight.

We can swim nude at the Cove, and even

If we spent ten more years cleaning

Up the broken glass, it would be

Worth it. Because anything worth doing,

Is worth doing with you. We can go to all the places

That signs, society, and ourselves,

Have denied us. And we can be happy.

I want to dance with you in the kitchen

Forever, even if the walls are burning.
