speaking of old fandoms i'm pretty sure this was in the running for the first zihark fanwork ever posted (on deviantart since it was there before i came on the scene in 2006).
listen, i'm a closet romantic, this hints at his past and the tragedy without it being too on the nose (at least for back then). it's tasteful and it makes me feel things every time. ;____;

the zihark/muarim artists back in the days were the ones i personally feel like understood the assignment with his character, and this piece is no exception; just a quiet moment of enjoying the ritual of tea and camaraderie together between battles. the body language? so good.
speaking of zihark/muarim - there's actually another one missing of a very drunk fe9 zihark with muarim that i'm still malding i didn't actually archive (i was not nearly as good about stringent archiving then :p ). anyway, still love that one for the raw/messy implications; that one let him be a fucked up mess versus just being Pretty Bishie.

pelleas for whatever reason got an above average amount of pretty suggestive art back in the day (thinking of hanakago's pelleas/micaiah shortly before they deactivated) for a remarkably sexless game and this one??? is no exception.
sure it could be bros "just""" comforting bros, but the bare feet. and the no gloves..... there'd be a scandal if a prince was found like this you know? also there's little details about this that make me go 'okay god tier yaoi ideas, i need to know more actually'
also zihark topping? god damn yes, i need more of this.

back in the day i tended to like solo!zihark artwork just being pretty (vs any ships), and it's like, okay. this one does an amazing job of that. :D
there's a nod at the affinity for cats but it's funny, done differently (poor man's eye is all scratched up LOL), and there's a real sense of his winking humor that he has in-game i never saw in most fanworks.
plus it's technically incredibly well drawn (a lot of the tellius work out there at that time was of beginner/intermediate quality; we were all basically learning how to draw). solid banger <3

this was another old solo piece i always adored; a lot of times solo pieces are kind of .... static? with no sense of general body language but for all its abstraction, this feels like something right out of in-game.
him taking a rest between battles/during daein's restoration, almost with a gangly all-limbs vibe, brightly 'on' for potential for conversation with somebody but there's an interesting sense of personal space/distance too. i'd love to see an official comic with more of this look.
i'm surprised i haven't seen 'person a takes off person b's glasses' as an act of intimacy more in comics/movies
