Do you forget to drink enough water while you are busy at work? It's very important to drink water and stay hydrated throughout the day. There are numerous benefits of drinking adequate water; some of them are removing toxins and waste from our body, improving our digestive system, maintaining body temperature and pH levels, helping transportation of nutrients in the body, helping creation of saliva and also improving the skin. Inadequate hydration leads to headache, cramps, fatigue, weakened immunity and dry skin. We need to drink approximately 1 litre of water per 20kgs of our body weight daily upto 4 litres max. Below are the basic tips to stay hydrated throughout the day - 1. Keep a 1-2 litre bottle which you can refill in between and a glass on your work desk so that you remember to drink water at regular intervals. (We recommend to avoid using plastic) 2. Set an hourly alarm for reminding you. There are good apps available on smartphones which remind you to drink water, have meals and stay active. 3. Due to some other commitments in the morning, did my workout at 4.30 in the evening today. It's okay in rare situations, but generally we recommend finishing workouts in the morning itself, because early morning is when our will power is at the maximum and the distractions (especially early morning) are minimum. Secondly, working out in the morning keeps you fresh and energetic throughout the day. Also, as per your biological clock, evening is the time when your body should move towards wind down, so if you are doing workouts in the evening you are actually going against nature.
