Despite How Divisive The Ending For TDAC Was Goose Has Better Storytelling Than This And Again I Say Ending Up Abstracted Shows That Yes People Can Be Beyond Redemption
Problem is with Charlie is she doesn't have a standard of who should be redeemed she allows anyone to come in and doesn't try to see what they have done despite being the head therapist. Because she cares more about her goal rather than addressing the issues people have. She just treats them as victims who are misunderstood rather than pos who need a reality check to change. The series doesn't put work on focusing on redemption but rather the sad backstories to get sympathy so we think that is enough to earn them redemption. They just do a grand gesture and that is it. And for Sir Pentious they just did that and reveal his sin after redeemed it's a cop out to not really focus on his journey. And better yet Charlie didn't do shit to find out his sin like Angel. She's just a blind dumbass leading the blind. She says she's giving hope but doesn't try to understand the cause. They can say three more seasons will so-called prove me wrong but I know that's bs because three seasons we once again will have a bloated cast and focus on bs heaven wars instead of redemption.
Yea

I’m a sucker for the AU where Pomni abstracts instead lol
Happy birthday! ...at the end of times,
with the digital hallucinations
what's the most important thing you've learned about related to writing or planning a story like tadc (eg. many complex characters to juggle)? do you have a favorite part of the process?
thanks for blessing us with the show and looking forward to whatever you work on next !!
To ask for a writers room at the beginning so you alone don't get crushed under the overwhelming pressure of a million expectations when you have to rewrite anything.
. TADC SPOILERS .
!! EYESTRAIN WARNING !!
‘wearing it “ironically” huh?’
Hiii!! Look at what I made!!! This took 3 days and I’m really proud of it
Caine Does Something That Stolas And Lucifer Never Do (Be Accountable And Own Up To The Fact They Hurt People)
The most frustrating thing about Helluaverse that characters like Stolas and Lucifer are treated like pure beans who did nothing wrong while having actions that screw over others. Here is Caine while he does wonder why no one likes him he then realizes that it's his own actions that caused his dislike and resolves to be a better person and listen. That's the biggest problem with Stolas and Lucifer they wallow in self-pity that they are hated but nary wonder if they would listen. They are treated like they are unfairly vitroled but in reality that hate is justified. The same thing with Caine the hatred is justified because he constantly abuses people, never listens, crews people over, forces people into scenarios they didn't ask for, and more. The biggest difference that makes Caine redeemable is that the narrative knows he needs to be called out on it and get better. However, Viv can't see it and as a result her writing suffers and so do characters like Lucifer and Stolas who have a lot to answer but don't actually fix the problems they break constantly. Lucifer screwed over humanity and Stolas screwed over Blitzo and his daughter. Viv thinks good intentions absolves all of that baggage they put on others, while trying to shift the blame to their victims. It unintentionally comes off as coddling them and makes them more and more unpopular. It's why Caine feels refreshing is because his victims have a right to hate him and his actions need to be addressed so he can earn some what of a happy ending.

Yeah after TADC, I'm looking forward for Lackadaisy and Gaslight District moreso than KOG and Gameoververse.
Nothing wrong with the latter two, but they didn't impress me the same way the former two have and still do.
That, and most of the other indie animations (other than Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss for some reason) have been cancelled or shelved, so there's not much to choose from that isn't rewatching older cartoons or indie projects over again until something else comes along.
Man...I feel kind of bad for all the other animations, having to follow in TADC's wake. It set the bar so high in terms of quality, and even if you don't think it was all that great, then in terms of popularity. And because it ended on a high note, that's how it'll be remembered.
I wonder how many people understand that these are two separate things happening in different times. One is Caine coming more and more into existence and discovering the obsolete unused brain scans, and the other is Caine gaining access to the random WiFi hotspot that just appeared temporarily (as they often do) nearby. They’re both moments of self discovery which is why we cut back and forth between them, but they are undoubtedly not happening at the same time.
I worry people might think these are congruent events and be confused why Scratch suddenly appears in the circus but is never seen again afterwards. That was them showing how Caine used his powers to figure out how to use the brain scans. It was a flashback. And it’s juxtaposed to him using his powers to learn more about the outside world and about the remaining circus members.
So if Caine and Kinger finally have a father-son relationship… does that mean Kinger calls him by his first name, all three middle names, and last name when he’s about to unleash the full force of his parental wrath
Jax Reminds Me What Angel Dust Should Have Been Like: A Rough Around The Edges Guy With A Tragic Past (And Makes Me Even More Mad That Current Version Of Hazbin Sanded Over His Edges And Reminded People How Much Of An Asshole He Could Be)
Seriously, how Jax is written reminds me of what we could have gotten with Angel Dust who used to be a devil may care jokester using his out persona to hide his issues and yet still has a rough edge to him to remember he can still be an asshole who screws over people around him. The current series edges off that to make him into uwu sad boy to feel pity for while ignoring his toxic traits that he needs to work on. As a result, no one takes him into accountability for his actions because he's got things rough being under contract with Val. It makes him a flat character in contrast how the series treats Jax as a someone with depth and someone who you have mixed feelings with. He feels like Angel Dust if he was given so many chances at redemption and blew it. In the end, he couldn't make it because he couldn't change himself for the better. Jax feels like a character that actually feels more daring than the series direction they went with Angel. It feels more real and while tragic like a logic conclusion to what type of person he is if he kept on choosing not to get help. I don't want just this babied woobie I want a person who hurts others because he's hurt and then make him be accountable for it. Make him a character not a cheap drama piece.
Jax Does Something That The Helluvaverse Doesn't Understand: Having A Hard Backstory (Or A Supposed One) Doesn't Absolve Someone Of Being A POS Themselves
I think one thing The Amazing Digital Circus does in comparison with Hazbin is not use a sad backstory to back down from the fact that a character like Jax is still a pos regardless how horrible his life has been. It's a mistake that Helluvaverse frequently makes trying to make you feel sorry for people who get away with being pos just because they have a sad backstory. Stolas is a classist asshole who sexually abuses Blitzo, cheats on his wife, and neglects his daughter. That's okay because his wife was a bitch and he had a lonely childhood. Lucifer caused humanity to fall, stole a man's wife twice, created an abusive caste system, and was okay with the slaughter of his own citizens. It's okay because the angels misunderstood him and he has to live with seeing the worst of mankind. Angel Dust sexually harasses people, was apart of the mob, and frequently abuses drugs. It's okay because Valentino abuses him so that makes him to be able to have some leniency over being scolded when he goes out of line. In other words, the backstories shield the characters rather than explain how they became that way. It also doesn't help the writers think crying also makes them look sympathetic rather than pathetic especially if they frequently do it and it makes them come off as crybabies. Jax cries as well but also the series doesn't forget that tears doesn't absolve he became an abuser like his mother. It's shown with Stolas when the series doesn't think what he does is abusive and never reflects how he's become just as bad as Stella and in come cases even worse. Lucifer doesn't reflect how he made a system that was even worse than heaven's because he doesn't take himself into accountability that his dreams screwed people over. Angel Dust doesn't feel the need to think how he could becoming like Val because he thinks just because he's hurt it's a license to hurt others. Jax is hammered into being a jackass and in the end sadly he refuses to change and eventually he abstracts. Thus showing the ultimate results of his own toxic consequences. However, Helluverse can't understand it and thinks consequences for one's actions are a tragedy rather than the punishment they deserve. Stolas is seen as tragic for choosing to save Blitzo over being there for his daughter and as a result loses his status and fortune. Lucifer is seen as tragic for causing sin to enter the world despite being warned how bad it would be. Angel Dust like other sinners are seen as tragic due to their pitiable conditions despite condemning themselves to that life due to their actions. The series think their toxic traits are just quirks rather than flaws that need to overcome. They don't understand that you can't make the audience be hit over the head about feeling sorry for these people while continually making them act like jerks and ruining people's lives. That doesn't work and that's why these characters fail because they try so hard to make them woobies that all their shitty behavior they try to gloss over gets too big to notice.
