-have no fear

it had been an accident, a mere mishap on her part. alice was never one for mistakes such as this; however enduring many sleepless nights made her quite jittery. foolishly thinking she was being attacked; again; made her recklessly pull out her sword. without a second thought she lunged at who she believed must be her attacker. luckily being sleep deprived also left her lacking in her usual sword skills.

"Alright, if you insist," she said, holding her arm out for the other. What she'd said was true — a simple nick like this wasn't going to put her out of commission, no way. She'd have folded at age 6 if that were the case. "I have to say, though... and I don't know how to say this gracefully: you ok? It's, uh... Well, it's not every day somebody tries to attack the first person she sees."

the simple question made her shudder yet she continued the task at hand. an explanation was well deserved and obviously this woman meant no harm otherwise she would have retaliated after alice’s attack, however did that mean she could be trusted? alice pulled out some ointment; made from herbs she collected the other day; as she pondered this predicament.

“this isn’t you anymore. you never wanted to hurt people.”

“come back to me. please.”

“could you change out of those bloodied clothes before you sit on my couch?”

It all started with a wish.

Blown out on a blue wishing candle, Regina Mills had wished to have someone in her life so she wasn't alone anymore. The faeries, wanting to spare themselves the misery, mostly all ignored her wish. Except for one. One faerie, whose name was Novalie, decided that the best way to make that happen was to transform Novalie herself into a child for Regina Mills. Regina had been a good parent to Henry, her adoptive son, but now he was eight years old and so angry with the world. Novalie wouldn't be like that. She would be better for Regina than anyone else! She had faith in herself.

it had been a wonderful six years with a few bumps and bruises along the way, but she powered through it. henry was now 14 years old. their relationship was cordial. he still chose to live with emma, but she couldn’t blame him for that and it seemed to be what they needed to repair their relationship.

regina didn’t think she had enough love in her heart to love someone else as much as she loved henry, but novalie proved her wrong. she loved this little girl to death. it had been a joy raising her.

perturbed belle decided to take a break. perhaps she could ask dr. dillamond about it or maybe even elphaba; the only other person who seemed upset about what transpired in their favorite teacher’s classroom. belle had no sooner thought this when she suddenly came across the person she had just been thinking of.

"How likely is it that your roommate will already be back in your room?" That might sound like a random question, but it was far from it. She trusted Belle enough to tell her about what Doctor Dillamond said, she had seemed to be the only one even remotely concerned when he brought up the subject, and moreso when they saw the writing on his board. Had it been said to her, well... it would hardly be the worst thing said to her, but it would still hurt.

“highly.” she answered after a long pause. “my roommate thinks our room is small and cramped, she hardly spends anytime in there.” not that belle could complain, she preferred reading in peace, and despite her ability to be completely immersed in a book she didn’t like to be rude. “come follow me.” trusting that elphaba was following her, belle started guiding the other to her dorm.

she perceived the stares that were thrown as the two passed their classmates. a phenomenon which occurred quite often where elphaba was concerned, though belle didn’t quite understand the reasoning behind it. elphaba’s green skin had no bearing on belle. was it unusual? yes. was it cause to cast the other woman as an outcast? no.

He was careful not to lean too heavily on her, lest she struggle to actually help him. "Heh, believe this if you wish. I am grateful for your help." Feeling as ill as he was, it was no lie how grateful he was to her help. He'd have to show his thanks once he was feeling better.

Elphaba was... well, upset. Any decent person would be, she imagined... though, how many decent people actually attended Shiz, she hesitated to even guess. She had followed Doctor Dillamond out of Shiz, witnessed the meeting he had with the other animals, all the... terrible things they discussed. And now, she was suppose to just pretend that she didn't know all of these things? How was she suppose to do that?

One thing was certain, though... her desire for the Wizard to fix was starting to change. Degreenifying herself seemed... so small... compared to figuring out what was causing animals to loose their ability to speak and just disappear completely.
