โโ Not every canvas is hell. this is a realization that he came to shortly after these misadventures began, but not every world is something despicable and horrid; many of them make his own look like something ripped from a torturer's manual, for instance. every grand cosmic piece has its own flavor, its own deserving glory - and, in the case of this particular one, said glory comes in the fact that travel is comfortable.
not easy. oh, it's far from easy. he's had to take breaks from his particular means - an ink-beast, this time, a horse with a few extra legs than it needs and a too-long face - to recoup and gather himself, but the bits of shade he's found are more than pleasant to make up for it. the main downside he's noted is that (at least, for his tastes) the weather is a touch warm.
as such, he's shed his jacket, tied it 'round his waist, and continued on. on foot now, his beast long since evaporated; occasionally skating 'cross the ground and leaving trails of fading ink in his wake - a traveler free of obligation or worry, chasing the shadows of birds overhead.
they're flocking to something, sisyphus has noted. come to think of it, he hasn't seen many snakes nor wolves, nor has he heard the distant wails of other predators. on one hand, there's an instinctive understanding that this should not be investigated: do not look blessings in the eye.
on the other hand, he is far too curious, and the birds here too fondly feathered... and a melody on the air, distant yet discernible, far too enticing.
the joy of traveling as he does now does wonders for reducing the sound he makes. thus, following the birds - and that melody - is easy enough.
let's see what's at the end of the yellow brick road today... he thinks to himself, despite the lacking of any real road beneath him beyond that which he himself has left behind.
following the birds, onwards and onwards to their destined perches and - you know, for a second, he can be convinced that it is simply an oddly shaped mound. sure, a rather tall one - a leftover from whatever great force made the continent, maybe, he's seen weirder things in weirder places - and one that's singing no less, but he could be convinced (perhaps by a god, and only a god) that it's some kind of natural feature.
it is, unfortunately, not his nature to take things as they are. not when they are new. more unfortunate still: in all his travels, never has he seen something - some one - so large.
the words come out of his mouth before he can stop them, awe commanding his voice -
โ god damn. โ

๐ฉ + multimuses? Is that a thing people are opinionated about still
ok i LOVE multimuses bc. 1) it's impressive to see how someone can play a range of different muses, but ALSO!!! and this is where my autism is really gonna rear its head lmao: i like looking at lists. lists are nice. and multimuses usually have lists bc. yknow. multiple muses. so i like looking at those lists of characters like ๐๐ and then i'll make my OWN list on a fuckin google sheet of their muses that i recognize and/or could see myself interacting with and it's a whole fun lil process and. ok yeah i'm autistic lmfao
that may not really be a hot take per se lol. otherwise though i don't have much of an opinion on multimuses, it's just a blog where you rp silly little characters like every other rp blog? man as long as i can rp with cool muses i am Gucci
Have you ever considered adding Rosie as a kind of guest muse, or is that off the table? She and Melody are pretty closely intertwined, which is why I ask :>
YES i have and i do have her available by request to anyone who asks to write with her! only that's a fairly hidden bit of info and i haven't really advertised it that much because my confidence in writing her compared to melody is lower, especially in a rp setting.
you are right though that they're pretty close, they're essentially traveling companions in their canon, and their dynamic is something i would like to incorporate in threads potentially! @riiese
@riiese liked for a starter from The Terminator
Having completed his primary mission, the Terminator's daily operations have shifted primarily to observation. Much of this activity centers on the Connors, analyzing the mundane aspects of human existence. However, the Connors also require privacy, and with a single command from the young John, the T800 is released from the residence, albeit temporarily. An astute observer might compare his situation to that of a cat.
The Terminator cruises the downtown streets on his motorcycle until he detects a disturbance in a supermarket parking lot. Pulling up to the curb, he observes an older man forcefully shoving past a woman exiting the market and grabbing a scrawny child by the collar, accusing them of shoplifting. Storeowners often take aggressive stances toward suspected thieves, regardless of the evidence.
What is new for the Terminator is witnessing someone intervene, and to his surprise, it's the woman who was just pushed aside, stepping in with hands already clenched.
A brief argument ensues, quickly concluding with a swift kick to the man's knee and a punch to the jaw, sending him stumbling into a crate of apples. The child seizes the opportunity to flee, and the store owner curses her out but then retreats inside. Intriguing.
"You didn't hesitate."
The Terminator doesn't need to raise his voice; it resonates from his spot to the woman's ears with ease.
"Most people would have chosen to walk away."
