In addition to being a fan of the musical, I've read the manga and am slowly working through the anime. My favorite characters are L and everyone on the Task Force (not Light), and my favorite ships are LawTsuda, MatsuLight, and pretty much any ship involving the Task Force in general.

The show has been developed since its previous concert performances

"The production will feature a revised script and new songs alongside the original score. Following productions across Asia and concert performances in London, this reimagined staging marks the work’s first fully staged London run. This new iteration planned for London also has ambitions for a future Broadway run. . . . The show will run from 30 July 2026, with a press night on 11 August, until 12 September. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on 4 March."

The most unbelievable part of Death Note isn't even the Shinigami. It's the fact that Light was able to finish his college degree while participating in extracurricular activities (tennis, talking to women, murder) without getting burnout.

Tl;dr: the full London run is being produced by Trafalgar Entertainment (instead of Carter Dixon McGill Productions and Indie Theatrical, who did the concert version) in partnership with Horipro (who first suggested making DN into a musical and created the Japanese production). Timeline, venue, cast, and creative team are all still TBA.

so I've been wanting to make an animatic for the song Hurricane from the death note musical for a while now and the other day I finally listened to the Japanese version of the song and wow. its genuinely such a gorgeous song, the lyrics are different from the english version but i almost like them more. since i dont think theres any animatics for this version of the song i'm really hoping to make one eventually !!

i wanted to edit the song myself and make some adjustments. there was a portion of dialogue in the middle of the song that i removed, and i blended both pieces together more seamlessly (compared to the other version i found). I also took some of the instrumentals from the video linked below to extend the beginning and the end, so it faded out more naturally without any of the audience applause. and finally i played around with the audio equalizer to make the sound a bit sharper (but i cant really tell if its an improvement or if i just made it worse 😭) i definitely could have done this an easier way but i was experimenting with a lot of stuff since ive never edited music before and it was actually super fun! its not perfect but this is genuinely the first time ive done this ok!! also i used davinci resolve which is free and my laptop somehow managed to handle it.
