fun fact is that that piggy bank is literally made of paper mache from the 60s and i'm pretty sure it was mass produced, probably not in a factory with decent conditions, but that's a different point entirely, my current point is that we can make things out of materials other than plastic that hold up for a Really Long Time with proper care, it's literally made of paper and we got it at an antique store, who knows how many hands it's passed through but it's in perfect shape and still serves it's intended purpose perfectly. glass, clay, paper, wood, metal. we were making so many durable things before plastic started it's toxic takeover and when i think too hard about it i get so fucking maaaaddd this accidentally turned into a rant
