So wait does this mean that if we took away the whole being able to produce ice thing. This movie might have been about depression?
Disney has come out and said itâs about anxiety and depression so⌠yeah
the writers literally said that Elsa is a metaphor for depression
And people donât understand why I love this movie so fucking much. Itâs not just because itâs cute, itâs because it means something to those of us who have faced similar struggles. This movie made me not feel so alone.

I didnât mean to write an essay, yet still I wouldâve gone more in detail. To make my point clear how the film is not a failure but had high expectations, think of the film like a gator, you canât expect a gator to climb a tree but the gator is still worth something in itself.
Well done. It was a well thought out and put together presentation, a pleasure to read.
Meals with feels.

To my understanding LPS has higher viewing figures among little kids than MLP does. I only bring this up to say that Iâm really really happy that said kids are being exposed to messages like the above when watching this show (though MLP does have good messages too). And letâs not forget that LPS has also had itâs share of âThereâs no one way to be a boy.â type messages as well (i.e. when Zoe and the male characters played that princess board game, when Russell won a beauty contest & was moved to tears of happiness over it, etc.) I fucking love this show.
FOR THE FELLAS
Congratulations to Chicagoâs Urban Prep Academy they are celebrating yet another year of extraordinary success. For the fifth year in a row, all 240 seniors at the all-African-American-male high school have earned acceptance letters into a four-year college or university!!!!!
On Tuesday, the Class of 2014 celebrated their  momentous occasion during a traditional ceremony where they exchanged their red uniform ties for a red-and-gold striped tie - a tradition done in observance of their achievement.Â
âThe tie represents to me moving on from a boy to becoming a young man and actually doing something with my life,â graduating senior Dumar Harris told NBC Chicago. The mayor of Chicago Rahm Emanuel attended the ceremony Tuesday to give the students a few encouraging words. Dwayne Wade has also donated $10,000 through his foundation, Wadeâs World.
Black make excellence
Bravo young men, bravo
college in a nutshell
This speaks to me. I totally understand this because this is literally me right now.
Telling a young girl she canât wear what she wants because itâs not appropriate encourages the idea that menâs reactions should dictate societyâs norms, and that all women are meta-Eves, tempting and ensnaring men with our sultry-eyed gaze. My parentsâ culture is steeped in patriarchy, in the philosophy of the one-step machismo machine, where there is just one kind of man, and two kinds of women: the angel and the whore. These limited ideas of masculinity breed men who want ownership of women.

The real world.
This is from Thatâs So Raven, where Chelsea and Raven apply to work at the same clothing shop. Chelsea is white; Raven is black. Chelsea gets the job, despite being utterly horrible at it, while Raven, who has a deep interest in fashion and knows how to handle clothes, does not. The girls find this deeply suspicious, so Chelsea wears a hat with a camera on it and questions the employer. The employer admits what she does in the gif above and Chelsea and Raven submit the footage to a news station.
And THAT is why Thatâs So Raven is the best TV show ever.
Thatâs not even the only reason why it was the best show ever
This was back when Disney channel had amazing shows with good lessons, not this stupid âDog with a Blogâ shit they have going on now
Wow. I now admire this show.
Back when Disney was actually good.

When people say they donât want their kids âinfluencedâ by seeing homosexuality portrayed on tv, in books, in public, etc, what theyâre really saying is âif my kid isnât straight, I want them to be too uneducated to understand so theyâll be forced to stay in the closet and it doesnât become my responsibility to face things that make me uncomfortableâ
I feel like there are probably too many people just scrolling past this so letâs go through everything thatâs going on here.Â
1. With Rogerâs voice actor standing off camera, Bob Hoskins acts into empty air and frantically sawing at his handcuff, continually looking up and down at different visual marks of various depths. Look at the slow pan up of his eyes in gif 4, and then the quick shift to his side. Think about how, on set, he was looking at nothing.Â
2. Starting in gif 2, The box must be made to stop shaking, either by concealed crew member, mechanism, or Hoskins own dextrousness, as he is doing all of the things mentioned in point 1.Â
3. In all gifs, Rogerâs handcuff has to be made to move appropriately through a hidden mechanism. (If you watch the 4th gif closely you can see the split second where it is replaced by an animated facsimile of the actual handcuff, but just for barely a second.)
4. The crew voluntarily (we know this because it is now a common internal phrase at Disney for putting in extra work for small but significant reward) decided to make Roger bump the lamp and give the entire scene a constantly moving light source that had to be matched between the on set footage and Roger. This was for two reasons, A) Robert Zemeckis thought it would be funnier, and B) one of the key techniques the crew employed to make the audience instinctually accept that Toons coexisted with the live action environment was constant interaction with it. This is why, other than comedy, Roger is so dang clumsy. Instead of isolating Toons from real objects to make it easier for themselves, the production went out of its way to make Toons interact more with the live action set than even real actors necessarily would, in order to subtly, constantly remind the audience that they have real palpable presence. You can watch the whole scene here, just to see how few shots there are of Roger where he doesnât interact with a real object.Â
The crew and animators did all of this with hand drawn cell animation without computerized special effects. 1988, we were still five years out from Jurassic Park, the first movie to make the leap from fully physical creature effects to seamlessly integrating realistic computer generated images with live action footage. Rogerâs shadows werenât done with CGI. Hoskinâs sightlines were not digitally altered. Wires controlling the handcuff were not removed in post.Â
Who fucking Framed Roger fucking Rabbit, folks. The greatest trick is when people donât realize youâre tricking them at all.Â
*pushes at Kippy* Â *intent on ruining her workday*
