Taking Gaius Down pt. 4 (last one)
Authorâs note: this is my idea of how Gaius will be stopped; at the time of writing, chapter 2 in BB2 is the most recent available chapter.

After Amy had recovered from her vision, aided by some food and a swig of tequila, she sat back and poured over the diary Agatha had left her. It wasnât clear who Muninn was, but her basic understanding of mythology led her to believe it was an alias. Unlike the diary she was expecting, the Journal of Muninn was like an encyclopedia on vampire lore.
The journal was a treasure-trove of information, though she wondered how much was rooted in fact and how much was hearsay and rumours. It detailed how the first vampire, Lilith, was as old as man and had only ever feasted on men, never turning them into a vampire. The story goes that she prayed to become the wife of the King of demons, Ashmadai, who turned her into a blood-sucking demon instead so that she could seek vengeance on the mortal men who had wronged her in her mortal life. According to the journal, she only ever turned one man into a vampire â Gaius. She saw it as a reward for how he had saved Rheya, the priestess who prayed for help but, after Nemesis continued to ignore her, she sought help from Hades. Lilith unleashed a bloody carnage on the men who had sentenced Rheya to rot in a cave. Rheya begged her to spare Gaius, as he had helped to the best of his ability and had risked his own life in the process. Not long after he turned, Gaius grew to resent Lilith and the powerâs she possessed, enthralled that the Gods hadnât bestowed him with equal power. His jealousy finally exploded when the Gods blessed Rheya with the same powers as Lilith, without having to sacrifice her soul to quench a blood lust. He had used Rheyaâs own dagger, the dagger of Rostam, to kill her in a bid to severe the Bloodkeeper line. There was nothing about Lilithâs fate.
Amy sat back, taking in the words and reliving them through the vision sheâd had whilst holding the dagger.
She stood and stretched, then walked over to the front window of her apartment to process. A figure on the ground below caught her attention; a tall, slim woman leaning in the shadows who seemed to be watching her. Amyâs breath hitched in her throat as she wondered â Kamilah? Almost as if the figure had heard her private thought, they disappeared out of view. Amy stood for a few moments looking for some sign that her Queen was near but there was nothing. With a sigh she retreated back to the journal, wondering how she could possibly be a Bloodkeeper when Gaius ended the line.
Before Rheya was left in the cave, she had been married and birthed a daughter, Alexandra. Upon Rheyaâs death the Godsâ had deemed Alexandra to continue her motherâs work, however she didnât receive most of the powers bestowed upon Rheya as she was born before Rheya had been gifted them.
The journal detailed how the Bloodkeeper line had lost their power over time, just as the vampires had. The links between Rheya and her disciplines was severed and had cost them both dearly. They were more susceptible to harm than vampires and Gaius had seemingly hunted them, though it appeared to be a lone venture and not something other vampires were part of.
What the fuck happened to Lilith?
The next morning she woke with a renewed purpose. She still couldnât fully comprehend what it meant to be a Bloodkeeper but something had clicked â Gaius was scared of her, scared of the power she could possess. Thatâs why he killed Rheya and thatâs why heâd kept telling her that she was weak and frail.
She continued with her routine â work, gym, home â but she pushed herself to her breaking point in the gym and every evening she tried to understand more; more about her, about Bloodkeepers, about vampires, about the First.
One evening, she opened her door and was surprised to see Nikhil standing in front of her. He had a nervous energy about him and made her walk around closing all of the blinds, to ensure no one saw him there. He explained how his master had learned of the Bloodkeepers hundreds of years ago and had become obsessed with finding out more. Heâd found a separate text which detailed Rheyaâs murder and heâd sworn revenge, believing the Bloodkeepers were needed to keep the balance between the mortal and vampire worlds. His master had psychic abilities, stronger than Jamesons, and had sensed the presence of a Bloodkeeper in New York and sent Nikhil to investigate and help however possible. Amy was disappointed that Nilhil didnât know what had happened to Lilith, and his master had assumed she mustâve been killed by Gaius though he found no evidence of either.
Together they formed a plan.
Gaius grinned at Amy as she was brought before him by Nikhil, baring his fangs in a sinister smile.
âNow our final guest has joined us, let us dispense with pleasantries and get to the pointâ â all hint of smile disappeared and his eyes turned a deep red â âwhere is the amulet?â
He kept his hands on Amy though he was addressing the council members behind him.
âWe already told you we donât have it!â shouted The Baron.
âYou⌠you got a hearing problem in your old ageâ Priya winced as she tried to antagonise him.
Gaius inhaled deeply. âFine, weâll do this the fun way.â
He took a step towards Amy but stopped at the sound of Kamilahâs voice.
âYou⌠dare⌠touch her and I swear I will tear you⌠limb from limbâŚâ
Amy frowned at the sight of her love as she struggled, the pain evident in her voice.
Gaiusâ laugh rang out, âBig promise, my Queen, you can barely stand.â
âShe hasnât been your Queen in a long time.â Amyâs voice was calm and taut.
Kamilah met Amyâs eyes, silently pleading for her to get out, to run as far as her legs could take, but Amy stood still and firm.
Gaius grabbed Amy by the throat, lifting her off her feet.
âYou know nothing, you pitiful creature. You really think you can satisfy her?â Gaius laughed but it was dripping with menace.
Amy struggled to get the words out under his grip.
âY-y-y-you⌠could never understand⌠real l-love. You gave her death and I-I⌠brought her back to life.â
Something in Gaius snapped and he brought Amy towards him with his fangs drawn.
âI will show you death, you little-â
Gaius was cut off as the dagger of Rostam pierced his chest, straight through his heart. He widened his eyes and dropped Amy. He fell and Jameson ran to his side, trying to remove the enchanted blade before screaming in pain, the skin of his hand sizzling at the slightest touch.
âNo, no, no⌠Master, please!â Jameson looked desperately for some way to avoid the now inevitable.
âOh!â Nikhil suddenly piped up, âI almost forgotâ. He pulled the amulet from his pocket and handed it to Amy. Jamesonâs eyes went wide but before he could reach for it, Amy drank the blood it held.
âWhat have you doneâ Lester muttered.
âAmy! You have no idea what this will do to you!â Adrian bellowed in horror, all too familiar with the risk sheâd put herself in.
Amy looked between them before settling on Kamilah.
âIf it stops himâ, she said, âItâs worth the risk.â
Kamilah looked truly scared as she took Amy in, watching for any signs of trouble.
They were all so focused on Amy that they didnât notice Jameson leap up and break her neck.
Kamilah was the first on her feet, with a sudden surge of strength she was on Jameson, her hand around his throat. Her eyes were the reddest theyâd ever been and she felt like she could explode from sheer anger alone. She glanced down at her lover, still and broken. Adrian and Lily were scrambling to get to Amy as Nikhil felt for a pulse.
âTear his fucking head offâ Jax screamed at Kamilah.
And she did. She sunk her teeth into his neck, ripping the jugular out before splitting his head from what remained of his neck. It didnât satisfy her and took her anger out on the cloaked-followers who were starting to flee, tearing them apart as she let out a guttural scream.
âOh my god!â Nikhilâs voice barely managed to cut through, âSheâs not dead!â
Kamilahâs head spun round as Amy groaned, twisting her head to click it back in place with an awful-sounding crunch.
âWoahâ Amy muttered as she stood up
âSlow down, you could hurt yourself.â Adrian cautioned her.
Amy giggled, âWhat, more than broken neck?â
Adrian smirked as Lily enveloped her in a tight hug.
âI donât care how youâre okay, I just care that youâre careâ, Lily signed as she squeezed Amy.
The council members started dusting themselves off and taking in the sight around them. Amy looked down at the pile of dust formally known as Gaius and picked the dagger up, sliding it back against her hip. Kamilah stared at her, tears in her eyes.
Amy walked up to her and gave her hand a little squeeze, âcome on, letâs go.â
Kamilah gave her a tight nod and they left the others, hand in hand.
They walked into Amyâs apartment and Amy shut the door and lent her head against the door.
Before she could continue she felt Kamilahâs arms tight around her waist, her head against her shoulder. Kamilah shook against her as she was unable to hold in her anger and fears anymore, allowing the tears to fall out.
Amy twisted round to face her, wrapping her arms around her and holding her tight.
Kamilah steadies herself and wipes her eyes with her hands, inhaling sharply before looking Amy in the eyes. Amy rests her forehead against Kamilahâs, looking into her eyes as she brings a hand up to cup her cheek. Without another word, Kamilah pulls Amyâs body flush against her and kisses her deeply. Her hands move up her weight, to grope her breasts before tangling them in her hair. Amy parts her lips allowing Kamilahâs tongue to slide in and massage her own. She grabs hold of Amyâs hair and pulls back, forcing her chin up and exposing her neck. Kamilah kisses along her jawline and down to her neck, sucking and nibbling and leaving her mark.
Amy groans and begins frantically clawing at Kamilahâs clothes and Kamilah gives her a hand to speed things up, before ripping Amy out of hers. Her mouth finds Amyâs again as she lifts her up, Amyâs legs instinctively wrapping around her hips. Kamilah carries her to the bed, never allowing Amy to come up for air, before throwing her on the bed. Amy sits up, trying to pull Kamilah closer to her but Kamilah grabs her wrists and holds them above her hand with one hand, while the other lightly brushes down her side and before moving back up the inside of her thigh.
Amy pushes her hips up towards Kamilah pleading with her to touch her, âplease, I need youâ.
Kamilahâs mouth finds her nipple as her fingers finally meet Amyâs aching clit. Amy lets out a whimper and manages to free a hand, pushing it straight down to meet Kamilahâs clit. Kamilah moans against Amyâs neck as they both rub circles, edging each other closer and closer. Amy loses herself as Kamilah sinks her teeth in, screaming Kamilahâs name and it isnât long before Kamilah follows.
Amy tries to catch her breath and she feels Kamilah smile against her.
âI missed you too, Kami.â
Kamilah props herself up on one arm, looking down at Amy, and smirking.
âI canât believe you told him I wasnât his Queen.â
âYouâre not,â she pressed a quick kiss against Kamilahâs lips, âyouâre mine.â
Kamilah looked at her adoringly, âI am and youâre mine.â
Amy sighed contentedly, âI love you, my Queen.â
âI love you, my Goddess.â
