It is canonically, demonstrably a fact that Vox doesn't want to possess Alastor. He DID possess Alastor for a time and he was still miserable. Yes, he enjoyed some petty revenge and the attention/status awarded by Defeating The Radio Demon™️, but the most important part of having Alastor as his prisoner was the opportunity to have Alastor back in his life- having an opportunity to make Alastor like him again. That's why he spent the entire Chair Era bending over backwards to impress Alastor, to the point of continuously fucking over his own plans and his partners to do so.

Just having Alastor means nothing to Vox. Having a genuine bond with Alastor means EVERYTHING. That's why he's so fucked up over Not Having It anymore, it's why he tries so hard to earn it back, it's why he has a complete fucking meltdown and gives up on Existing when he thinks it's unattainable.

museums cost a lot of money to run and rely on private donations as public funding is often limited. just because the met gala only raises funds for a specific collection doesn't mean it's inherently bad. it's not just a rich people's party. and anyway, rich people should be giving their money to stuff like the preservation of the arts.

Though it is... nice. Having someone worry and fuss over him. So sometimes he exaggerated his pain just a little bit, or does something he knows is dangerous in front of you.

I can totally see him exaggerating his pain, no matter how minor because he low-key likes feeling fussed over by you sshsvxb the little shit x3

But it does touch him deeply to know someone is looking out for him and cares about his wellbeing. When you notice the little things and go out of your way to help him, even if he initially feels ashamed or embarrassed about needing help at all. Sometimes he can set his pride and those uncomfortable feelings aside and admit it feels nice to be taken care of. Being the one to get doted on.

But in more serious cases, it's a different story.

Running to him after he's done something incredibly dangerous and wrapping your arms around him, holding him tight. It's only when he feels your shoulders tremble does he pull back and take your face in his hands, thumbing warm tears from your cheeks.

His heart breaks seeing your tears. Tears you've shed because of him.

"Hey, what's all this for? I'm okay, honey, see? Not even a scratch," he reassures you in his usual light-hearted way, tilting your chin up to meet his warm, golden gaze. "no more tears now. You know nothing is ever going to take me away from you."

He truly means the words when he says them. But they do little to erase the lingering doubt in your eyes. If anything, they just wrench another sob from your chest and you pull him back tightly into your arms as if he'll somehow fall through your fingers and disappear. He's at a loss.

He's right here. And he always will be. Nothing can touch him, you know that.

You know he's strong. He's nearly a god.

Why do you fret over him so?

Though it is... nice. Having someone worry and fuss over him. So sometimes he exaggerated his pain just a little bit, or does something he knows is dangerous in front of you.

The altercations eventually get broken up and everyone goes their separate ways. But as time goes on, what sticks in your mind the most is that he always seems to have a comeback for everything that gets said except this. Lucifer never once corrects them or disputes this accusation in particular... he tends to freeze up, get angrier, or just downright resort to causing a distraction to get away. But he never denies it.
