                                              JEZEBEL MARIE HIGGS ; 

His whole body tenses, his hands hovering over her shoulders in surprise. Easing into the unexpected kiss, Dylan places tentative hands on her waist and hopes their unwanted guests think they are just a couple of students and will be let down easily. It crosses his mind that Jezebel is actually helping him – perhaps she was right and Dylan had been too quick to judge. 

When Vannah opens the broom closet door she expects to  see —well she just doesn’t expect to see Dylan lip locking  a blonde. Her mouth falls agape at the sight and although her  heart should drop to her stomach it doesn’t because oh my god?! The annoyance that penetrates through her is too sharp and piercing for any other emotion to crawl its way to the surface. After her initial shock Vannah crosses her arms over her chest expecting th two to separate as soon as they realize there are  two other human beings in their presence. But her patience grows thin far too fast and she purses her lips into a single line.   “Ahem,” Vannah coughs with an overwhelming intent to disrupt  the two teens in front of her. “Sorry to interrupt but I kind of need to take Dylan back—yeah, hi. We have certain priorities over romance right now in case you forgot.”

Seeing Dylan kissing anyone at a time like this was certainly unexpected but Vannah’s reaction was just far too amusing. Andrew wondered if Dylan knew that the other girl had feelings for him or if he was as oblivious to them as Vannah  was about intimate wand sharing. Either way Andrew doesn’t  say anything but keeps his lips sealed as he tries to hide the  laughter that is threatening to spill from them.

Jezebel tears away from Dylan when she hears the cough but shields him enough until she sees the two run aways. Jezebel licks her lips  with an apparent flush to her cheeks. “Sorry,” she says quietly but raises her eyebrows in inquiry as the smaller girl throws daggers. Whether they are directed at her or Dylan, she’s not all that sure but  the embarrassment sticks.  “Guess you better get going. Are you going to tie me up and leave me here or am I free to go back to my room pretending I know nothing?”

He’s cut off too abruptly and left frowning against the finger on his lip. Grumbling under his breath, Dylan mutters,  “ Whatever, ” with a narrow of his eyes. If he wants to get out of here alive, he has to listen to her. They can’t be caught and risk the mission. 

Dylan presses his lips together when the voices in the distance get louder and attempts to shift his body away from leaning against the door. However, his foot gets caught and he kicks a dusty broom, it tipping over several objects on the counter and onto the floor with a clatter.  “ I’m gonna die tonight, ” he whispers in disbelief of himself, shutting his eyes. Dammit.

She sticks her tongue out at him from behind his back. And perhaps if Jezebel wasn’t afraid that the oncoming  female student was Morag or Fawn she would have laughed when Dylan stumbled over his own two feet. There’s a clatter of objects that tumble like a line of dominos and Jezebel flinches in place.

“Did you hear that? There’s someone in there.”

[ Oh for Salazar’s sake! Do I have to do everything myself? ]  Jezebel looks up to the ceiling, momentarily closing her eyes before she lets out the same sigh she does whenever  she is about to get down to business. 

Her hands came up to Dylan’s cheeks, adjusting herself so that her hair masks most of his facial features and her nose  brushes up against his. “Play along if you want to live, yeah?” She’s saving his neck and all she can think is that he better realize that she’s not the bad guy he’s been painting her out  to be. 

She doesn’t give him enough time to respond but lets her lips collide onto his. Keeping her hands firmly against his cheeks she doesn’t let him squirm, not even when light seeps into the  room and pairs of eyes burn onto their backs. 

Dylan rolls his eyes, exasperated. “ You know what it’s supposed to mean. ” He retorts, shaking his head and keeping a look out through the crack to peer in to the hallway, his heart beating loud in his chest with nervousness. Averting his eyes away from the door, he raises a brow at her in offense. He opens his mouth to say something, the words are punched out of him in a breath at her confession, tongue sticking to the roof of his mouth. 

“ I – well, I could say the same for you. ” He starts, licking his lips, voice harder. “ It’s not like I just kissed you for nothing, you know. I thought we  had a lot in common, but who knows now. ” Heart beating loud in his ears, Dylan swallows hard.

She shushes him loudly, holding her finger over his lips. “Shh, you’re being way too loud and I already have a headache.” Jezebel rubs the temples on her forehead, admittedly for dramatic effect. Really, honestly, she would love to educate him on what it’s like to really live within the castle walls. There’s just so much he doesn’t understand. Jezebel isn’t the bad guy and she hates being put in that position.

In the distant she hears a female voice and her eyes narrow trying to distinguish who it is.
