Ayoooo I know I'm almost a month late for Halloween, but I wasn't able to draw anything back then, and I was really frustrated I couldn't participate in any inbox Trick or Treating this year ): So I wanted to create something anyway, and this scene wouldn't leave my brain. So here is Father Fives, trick or treating with his four Tauntaun children! Eeeeeeeeeeek <3
This is inspired by @aknightreaderr 's Fives State of Mind AU, which is very dear to me and introduced me to the amazing crack genre. If you haven't read anything from this AU, please do, it's so much fun <3
I reused the kids' designs I created over a year ago, but did some slight readjustments
From left to right, the Tauntaun children are:
Obi-Taun Kenobz. He wanted to dress up as some Seppie general after seeing too many memes on the internet (Echo helped creating the costume)
Bob. He's scared easily, so he just wanted to be comfortable in his Grogu cloak and beanie (he already owned the cloak and beanie of course)
Ahsoka Tauntauno. She saw this dress on a poster in Tauntaunakin's room, and fell in love with it (Kix helped sewing it together); this is the only time Fives let her wear facial makeup
Tauntaunakin. Would only join the trick or treating if Fives let him be some evil Sith lord (don't ask why)
Also THE LIGHTSABERS ARE OBVIOUSLY NOT REAL (for the Maker's sake, they're just children??!)

The attention to detail here is phenomenal!!! I love that Obi-Taun Kenobz is a Seppie general because he saw memes on the internet. Of course Echo wanted to help create the costume!
And then darling Bob, who is such a sweet soul and is going to be very safe behind his big brother Obi-Taun. I'm so glad you thought of his comfort!
Dearest Ahsoka Tauntauno is a vision in red. I'm so glad Papa Fives allowed her to wear a bit of makeup and that you brought in the poster from Tauntaunakin's room (because we all know how much the lad pines after the Senator)
And Tauntaunakin. Perfection. Beautiful. Amazing. Of course Fives let him dress up as a Sith Lord - it's just creative expression! I do hope he chases Tup around the garden for the lols.
I am very pleased that the lightsabers are not real. Fives is such a good father that he would NEVER allow any harm to come to his darlings! But of course, if they ever wanted to see a real life lightsaber, I'm sure there would be hundreds of Jedi Masters willing to show off their lightsaber to the kids (with Plo Koon being the first)!

Just a general update, since I’m behind on things. This past week and a half has been insane at work and preparing for upcoming life things, and I think the remainder of this week will be the same and I think I’m sick. So, if I haven’t responded to something yet, I promise I haven’t forgotten you, I’m just behind.

- The final chapter of At War is written. I just need time to do some editing and then it will be posted! Sorry, I know right before the finale is the worst time to have a delay. 🥺
- We’re still watching Andor s2 and I’ll be posting my thoughts, we just haven’t had time to watch it recently, but we will get back to it!
- I’m also working slowly through my fic reading list and responding to comments with the tiny pockets of time that I have.
- I also have been meaning to do a 100 follower event for the last couple months where I write some stuff for you guys, but I didn’t want to start it until I knew I had time, so… eventually.

WAS IT ALL A NIGHTMARE:
Chapter two has been awful to write.
The outline for the chapter is done. It’s great, but I’m not happy with the most important scene and I can’t tell if it’s because it’s not supposed to be there, I’m just bad at writing these kinds of scenes, if it’s supposed to be a different pov, or what.
I really need a beta reader or something. Or, I just have to convince myself that it’s not actually that bad.
Anyway, with this being a beast, I haven’t really wanted to write anything else, which leads me to my next update:
THE LOST CITIES:
Because the previous fic has been awful, I haven’t actually made any progress… I want to, I just don’t like working on more than one chapter at a time. So, the next chapter of this fic will probably get written after I get chapter two of WAS IT ALL A NIGHTMARE finished.
THE CHOSEN:
I started writing it, and then I decided I didn’t like how it started out, so this is still in the outlining faze.
I’m also debating on changing the title… the title always reminds me of the Christian TV show, and while I’m sure it’s a good show, I don’t really want to be reminded of it every time I try writing this Ninjago fic about ghosts.
A ONE SIDED RIVALRY:
I got big ideas. No idea how to execute them yet and no idea when I’m going to try. So just stay posted ig.
Aaaand… a I started a new one!
A FAMILY MUCH THE SAME:
This is a Star Wars fic. It was supposed to be a one-shot, but I should’ve known that would never happen cause I’m impatient and have big ideas.
Anyway, about the fic, it’s Star Wars, the pairing is Fivesoka, the plot: Ahsoka is going to see Fives’ family for the first time… boy is she in for a surprise. It’s currently got 2/3 chapters up.
This fic showed me that I’m a lot better at writing fluff than I thought I was, so I’ll probably be doing more fluffy one shots (I say as I look at all of my unpublished works that were SUPPOSED to be one-shots) of different ships in the future.

The air was thick with heat and smoke and the tang of scorched metal. Ahsoka spun through the last wave of droids, her saber catching on of the last and sending sparks flying in her peripheral vision. More would come. They always did.
“General!” a trooper called, sprinting toward her, streaked with soot and ash. “Gunship went down! The one with Commander Rex!”
She froze as everything went silent around her.
She reached out through the Force out of instinct. The Force was fuzzy and indistinct, men all around her, pain and panic and a thousand other things. All except that tether she was looking for.
Something cracked deep in her chest and she struggled to pull in a breath.
“Sir?” The trooper asked and she blinked, shaking her head.
Her men were watching. Still depending on her to finish this, to hold it all together. She inhaled sharply through her nose and gave the trooper a nod.
“Thank you,” she said, voice even. “Fall back and regroup.”
She opened a comm channel. “Jesse. I need you on command frequencies now. Take over.”
There was a pause. “General? Is everything—”
“Debrief later. That’s an order.” She cut the connection. Jesse was clever, he’d know something was off, but he would follow orders. She knew that.
The next hours were a blur of updates and coordination and fighting. They’d beaten back the last wave, had time to regroup and breath and treat the wounded.
She stood at the fallback point. Everything was handled, injuries triaged, perimeters set, the last of the droids cleared.
Usually, Rex would’ve been at her side by now, going over the logistics, making sure every name on the casualty list was accurate. It was his voice she heard when she thought of field reports. His presence she counted on when the smoke started to settle.
Her feet moved but she hardly saw anything around her.
I’ll have to write the report alone. Collect his tag. Explain it to the men. And I’ll have to do it without falling apart.
She blinked as Kix approached. “General. We have the survivors from the crash.”
She nodded vaguely. “I’ll need the full list of casualties. Confirm identification. I’ll need to draft the report within the hour.”
Kix blinked at her. “General—”
“I know it’s soon,” she continued, her voice flat, her gaze somewhere behind him. “But the Senate will want updates because a commander is involved, and I need to log the exact coordinates of the downed gunship.”
He hesitated. “You should come see for yourself.”
She shook her head, feeling almost dizzy with the motion. “Just get me the IDs KIx and—”
“Ahsoka.”
She looked at him properly then. Kix looked tired too, dark circles under his eyes, armor dirty and stained as the rest of them. “He’s alive.”
It took her too long to understand what he meant. She blinked, finally met his eyes.
“What?”
“Rex. He’s in the med tent.”
She was through the flap before anyone could stop her.
The tent was dim. Field cots and litters lined either wall, filled with troopers, bandaged and bruised but alive. Her eyes went straight to the man sitting up at the far end.
Rex was out of armor, torso bare and wrapped in bandages. His left arm was immobilized in a sling, She could see the bruising on his chest and a fresh cut above his brow. There was an all too familiar crease between his brows as he read over something on a datapad, because of course he was still working.
“Rex.”
His head jerked up. He smiled when he saw her.
She stormed across the space and kissed him.
It was hardly gentle, her mouth crashed into his, her hands gripping his face, his shoulders. She felt him flinch, then melt into it, his good hand coming up to cup her face. For a moment, nothing else existed.
Then she pulled back, chest heaving, and smacked him flat against the chest.
He winced. “Ow—”
“Sorry,” she managed, breath catching. “But kriff, Rex. I thought you were dead,” she said, eyes burning. “You don’t get to kiss me like nothing happened.”
“You kissed me,” he said, baffled.
“Don’t be cute,” she snapped, though it came out half-strangled, trying to gather herself.
