Post Elation and Revelation. Chat and Mari may have noticed Monarch targetting Marinette even more than usual. So he goes to check on her sometimes and prevents an akumatization since she doesn't have a charm

Marichat May Day 20: Soft Cares

At first she didn't want him to come in. Marinette had a boyfriend now, she just couldn't let any guy into her room just because they were looking sad.

But this wasn't any guy, it was Chat. Her Chat. He was still her best friend (even if she had to wear a mask for it to work) and she wanted to help whatever burden he was carrying.

He didn't talk. He just...waited. And as fast as he came he would left, leaving Marinette with a feeling of uselesness she hadn't felt since losing the Miraculouses.

After a few days later she decided to confide in Adrien about it. She wasn't going to lie to her boyfriend —no more than she already did— and if he wanted for her to not talk to the superhero, maybe that could be a good excuse to not let him in again.

"I don't know," Adrien said, after hearing Marinette's explanation, "maybe he lost someone during Monarch's fight. Maybe he doesn't want to lose you too."

That night, Marinette left her hatch unlocked, instead of making Chat knock.

That night, Marinette opened her arms, when her feline friend dropped inside her room.

That night, Chat Noir was hold. And the rest of the nights he needed to.

And Marinette, also realized, needed to be hold too.

MARINETTE IS CONTROLLING OVER EVERYBODY. EVEN HERSELF. THAT'S WHY SHE IS SO STRESSED.

Because everytime Marinette wanted to do something selfish, something for herself, THE FUCKING WORLD ENDED. And that's not a metaphor. Every single little thing she wants to do by herself just for once, ends up with timelines being destroyed. Adult Bunnix couldn't even fix a new Butterfly being created, mind you, she had to get TEENAGER MARINETTE to help her in the London Special.

And she wants so hard to say the truth! BUT ALL THE OTHER PEOPLE IN ADRIEN'S LIFE ARE TELLING HER NOT TO. Nathalie, who is current Adrien's mom (and is also part of a secret organization that wants to breed perfect kids); Kagami, ex-girlfriend and only friend of Adrien before changing him for Felix; Felix, Adrien's cousin WHO BETRAYED ADRIEN MIND YOU TO GET HIS OWN FREEDOM; Plagg, the closest thing Adrien has to a dad. ALL OF THEM HAVE TOLD MARINETTE: "NO, DON'T"

And what's worse is that the two times she wanted to tell people she trusted about that secret, what happened? THEY GOT MAD AT HER. Luka revealed how he lied to her, that he had to go away from having FEELINGS (good or bad he had those feelings) and then he THREATEANED HER TO TAKE HER MIRACULOUS AWAY. And then ALYA ACTED AS IF MARINETTE WAS THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD. TO THE POINT THEY HAD TO ASK CHAT NOIR TO ERASE HER MEMORY.

Do you realize how fucked up Marinette has it? The fact that she has lost her freedom and has become a slave to Gabriel's wish just like Adrien used to be a slave to his dad? And nobody is giving her a solution except to shut her mouth up?

And is funny because, maybe with the exception of Nathalie and Plagg, what the other people want is for everyone to know Gabriel was Monarch. But Gabriel is dead. He won't pay for the crimes he comitted anymore. They only want the truth out because is the "right" thing to do, but what will become of Adrien with that? Are they really thinking of Adrien, like Marinette is doing?
