u know i can criticize beauty ideals n the multi billion dollar plastic surgery industry across the world n how detrimental it is for women n womens confidence n self love until im blue in the face but at the end of the day i will never ever object to plastic surgeries. bc i am transgender. n also i think i should have no say on what other ppl do w their bodies

im also not fond of the "othering" of transgender experiences bc a lot of cis ppl experience if not gender dysphoria then smth similar to it. i dont think theres a fundamental difference between a trans woman getting a breast enlargement to look more "feminine" n a cis woman doing so. n i dont think one is more "justified" than the other

a lot of cis ppl r also self conscious/self hating abt their traditionally gendered characteristics - height, voice, feet size, body n facial hair, breast size, genitalia, build, etc. i think trying to present these experiences w gender as uniquely trans n as smth that cis ppl wont understand keeps trans ppl from being understood, n in general r more detrimental than helpful to trans acceptance. a short cis man n a short trans man have similar experiences regarding height, i dont think its helpful to try n present the two as inherently different experiences

For me a big part of “sex work is work” is that sex work should be socially viewed as totally legitimate work. I should be able to put sex work on my resume. I should be able to lean on the skills and knowledge I gain in this field and have that experience be respected. Right now I have a gap in my resume. i don't really want to weight in on the "using big words in your writing is ableist" discourse happening on tiktok because i'm like 90% certain it's an anti-intellectual psyop to stir up drama in online circles to promote the use of ai to summarize literally everything and thus feeding the LLMs and lowering the populace's mistrust of such tools but i also have to say: dictionaries and thesauruses are the most accessible they've ever been. if you use an e-reader of any kind you can look up a word without leaving the page. there's a plethora of online dictionaries and if you just type a word + "meaning" into google it'll usually give you a definition. we used to have pocket dictionaries we used when reading in class. i have two on my shelf right now that i used in high school. stop letting the fascists purposefully misuse anti-ableism rhetoric to trick you into never thinking again.

Every time I see some panic article about people worshipping chatgpt, I always ask "okay, what was that person doing before they started praying to chatgpt" because the answer is almost always some shit like "well, they were in Qanon and ran a Facebook page about psychic serpents who live in the center of the earth"
