• Starr Park is a man-made island off the coast of Florida and is an unincorporated area under the jurisdiction of the company
• The employees live on a residential island
• They all live in apartments, while the rest of the island has things like company stores, parks, and hospitals
• The movie theater that the movie trio works at is actually located on the residential island
• Performers like Melodie, Draco, Charlie, and Ziggy are actually freelancers, but due to some fine print and loopholes, they're basically employees without labor protections
• Starr Park has no union and is strongly anti-union
• It's to the point where Draco's dnd games are secretly monitored to make sure it's copacetic
• Larry enjoys watching it tho
• Starr Parks' company currency is coins, and they're worth a third of a dollar
• Purchases made outside of the company stores (like Amazon) must be approved by the company before the transaction is completed
• Rent for the apartments is taken out of employees' paychecks
• Juju can smuggle in anything, but she charges a high rate
• Jacky smuggles in alcohol and tobacco since both are banned on the islands
• Brock helps with tech since web activity is tracked, and depending on what you search, you could get fired, plus some things are blocked on the official employee wifi
• Berry snuggles in weed in the form of edibles
• If you get fired, you get dropped off at the nearest port, and then you're S.O.L. since 2/3rds of your savings are gone
• Sex is banned, but as long as you're not loud and you're in an apartment, no one cares (and even then sometimes Larry will let you off with a warning)
• Starr Park used to be a seasonal fair back in Belle's great-grandfather's day, but soon turned into what it is now
• The Starr family has been kicked out of their family business, starting with Belle's father
• Belle thinks the park has lost its way
• Belle and Colt have a strained relationship since she views him as a shallow sellout, while he just wanted to be famous and reclaim his family's limelight (Belle had disowned him as a son)
• Edgar's dad is actually the CEO of Starr Park (technically, he's a surrogate baby) and is a back-pocket heir, which is why he's still in the park but doesn't receive as much attention as his big brother
• Belle hates Edgar for his relation to the CEO, but Edgar has no idea that her hate is rooted in that
•Attraction franchisees like Griff, Mr.P, and Finx have more spacious apartments, but only slightly
• The franchisees have to meet with their higher-ups bi-monthly to report their earnings and whatnot, like an investor's meeting
• If they underperform, they're fired
• Griff is always terrified of them
• No employee is allowed to leave the islands
• Two big fairies take employees from island to island
Employees have a curfew at 10:00pm
Mild offenses are usually put in a record and have a pay dock
Every month, each employee gets a wellness survey
Larry personally checks in on anybody he's particularly worried about off the books
This is a super duper long post, and even then, I might have more to say, but I hope you enjoy a little bit of what I dumped from my brain.
