Ok so Ilya as Lestat obviously cause you're right and I've been saying it Connor Storie could play a younger Sam Reid and I'll die on this hill. Ilya also as the secure in his sexuality avant garde European bisexual with very different mommy and daddy issues. I'm sorry they're the same character same font just bold vs italic.

But Shane as Louis would be so fascinating in that repressed homosexuality because being a person of color was already enough to make him a social outcast, and he does not need another fucking thing on top of it to get in the way of the person he wants to be. The constant performance of masculinity and deference to being good. It's delicious. But Louis has a family that he is very defined by, as is Shane by being an only child with a fairly healthy family dynamic.

So very very weird suggestion just as ideation. Replace Grace and Levi with Yuna and David, replace Mamaw with Shane's agent from the books Farah. And tragically I don't think there is a character that can fill the function of Paul without entirely stripping them of their own character (Hayden and JJ were my considerations, but they add too much to Shane's story later. Maybe Rose's friend Miles if we just need the name and action.) However I do think Shane as the eldest son could isolate himself under increasing pressure on his own without the tragedy of Paul.

Anyway the other fun part! With Hollanov as Loustat who do we have for Devil's minion?

Rose Landry would be an iconic Armand. Playing in that way her character is designed to parallel Ilya, but also as an actor vs Armand's director. Careful control of the narrative because 80% of her companions have abandoned her for reasons beyond her control, just wanting to be wanted. She and Shane hit it off and they're almost so perfect together so she clings but it's never enough.

Svetlana Vetrova and everything she is to Ilya Rozanov as Daniel Maloy would break me in the best way. The reporter and the Rockstar. His only friend in the world, with terrible taste in partners. She has an insatiable appetite for information on vampires as her sub in hyperfixation from hockey.

But wait if what about Claudia? I'm so glad you asked Luca Hass to the front! You know what you did. I really want to give this to Elana cause Claudeline is so important to me as a lesbian, but Claudia's relationship to Loustat is so significant and the only other person who could aside from Luca is Rose, but Skip does not have the energy to pull off Devil's minion the way Roselana can. So Luca Hass now has a sketch journal, let's get into the daddy issues! Living in the shadow of these two titans trying to find what they have for yourself, it's tragic and fascinating. (Madeline as persecuted for sleeping with a Nazi might just have to be Troy Barret since we don't have a Luca cannon love interest yet, but maybe this can be a Claudia/Luca lives AU and they wind up in a throuple with Harris.)
