my relationship with taylor swift is so weird. i know i don’t love her. i’ve cried to her music. since like 2014 all my spotify wrappeds have had at least one of her songs. i think she’s a genius. i think she’s overrated. i genuinely don’t know if i like her. i feel a great sense of empathy towards her. whenever something good happens to her, it makes me happy. sometimes good things happen to her and it annoys me. her fans and fandom culture fascinate me. sometimes i genuinely hate them. sometimes i genuinely hate her. peace is the song of all time. etc

I know I’ve said this before but it is the nature of misogyny that the women most vulnerable to misogyny are usually the ones living the least “feminist” lives like yeah you’re completely right that lack of financial autonomy makes woman more vulnerable to abuse…. of course that also means that a disproportionate amount of abused women are those who are not financially independent for reasons you may or may not think are valid. Do you actually care about them or do you care about, like, girl power.
