jevil: hi i'm jevil i'm really silly but i've been locked up by own and only companion, also i'm fucking insane in the head and WILL kill people if you come close because nothing in life matters, and if nothing matters that means i can do anything. i also have a connection with the franchise's most mysterious character, and i'm lonely in my little freedom.

yeah well chapter 1 is one hour long at most while chapter 2 is SEVEN hours long. kinda unfair to make this kind of comparison isn't it

if anything, jevil is one hell of a character due to how much he manages to get across in an hour long chapter and one encounter. i can take away a LOT of things from jevil just from his dialogue. he talks in a very sophisticated way and has speech quirks (some form of echolalia) like spamton, as well as using shakespearean language. jevil has an AMAZING contrast with spamton due to the whole angel/demon thing and several other instances. spamton despises the dark, jevil likes the darkness, spamton tries to search for freedom in the light world, jevil just accepts his nihilism and feels comfortable in the dark world. he admits to your face he is lonely, while spamton dodges the fact he is lonely too by saying stuff like "we're already friends, kris! we don't need anyone!".

jevil and seam's relationship is VERY troubled, seam was literally forced to lock away their companion and as they say, they were jevil's ONLY companion. it gets worse when you realize that, aside from taking down the healer of the team first, jevil might target ralsei so goddamn much because he's a mage. the way he targets him in his fight is not normal behavior for a boss.

tasque manager of all people knows jevil, implying he went to cyber city at some point. she also resembles a lion tamer which might hint at a stronger connection. spamton also knows him and appears to envy him, saying he wants to surpass the "clown around town". jevil and spamton both allude to hell and heaven respectively, no euphemisms used there. jevil fights "YOU" aka the red soul (the anomaly) and that's why he doesn't have a soul mode like spamton neo does.

jevil's story and themes are as impactful as spamton's imho. ever think about jevil's chained head? i know it's a popular fanon thing to interpret that as a slinkie but it looks an awful lot like a chain, it always did to me. if spamton has a chain on his heart, which implies his emotional side is being controled and locked away, jevil's head being chained to his body is most likely symbolism for his "imagination" going too wild. he went insane over the knowledge of his world being fake and was imprisoned for it, abandoned by society, left to rot. i'm sorry but that's... really heavy.
