Working on a new AU:3 finished Sonic Prime not too long ago and thought Nine deserved to have his own Sonic sooooo, why not Nicky lol

For a bit of background, they met during one of Nine’s runs topside—saw this blue weak-ass looking hedgehog getting beaten up by some randoms and ended up saving him, he doesn’t know why but he did, and now the blue hedgehog (Nicky, he learned) won’t stop following him around.

It’s meant to be sonine so they’ll KISS… eventually, after Nicky gets through all of Nine’s hang ups lol

I love how the end of this heavy metal song just calms down so much. And how this part particular WAS intended to be Sonic addressing Tails, in light of the insecurities Tails shared with him earlier. So I got this idea last night 🥰 it would take place in the week following Sonic Frontiers.

Leave it to me to save my real angst piece not for a day that would make sense, like "doubt", but a prompt like "prank".

This is based on a small detail in @genesis-quoi's "Growing Pains (& Defunct Planes)" that just really stuck with me for some reason. The fic is beautiful and sad and full of sentences that punch me in the gut. Highly recommend.
