Absolute greed on main too. It’s not like these companies don’t already make a shit ton of profit. But it’s never enough, is it? Because the definition of success in our capitalist hellscape is a never ending increase in profit margin. If a company just maintains the same heinously unethical profit margin for a few years, you get econ hacks at Forbes or whatever writing pieces about how the company is “failing”.

OH MY GOSH

this morning NASA abandoned their mars rover Opportunity (aka Oppy) because it (she) got hit by a storm on Mars and it knocked her camera and wheels out and her last words to the team were “my battery is low and it is getting cold”. I know she’s a machine but I’m devastated. Oppy is the one who discovered water on Mars. RIP oppy ily space baby

“I had my personality squashed for 18 years because I had to pretend to be something I wasn’t as a survival skill. And then I found my people and had to re-learn how to express myself. “ Oh, man, I 100% relate. I went to a private school with the same 11 or so kids until late middle school, and I always felt like the odd-man out. They would bully me relentlessly for it. I wouldn’t talk to anyone about my interests, feeling too geeky. And then I finally started a public school in the 8th grade, and I was pretty closed off until someone invited me to their halloween party, and we talked about our Neopets accounts, and she showed me her manga collection, and it was just like ‘FINALLY! someone like me’.  Like, normal shit for a preteen, but I just hadn’t been exposed to kids with the same interests in real life. Internet friends, sure, but never anyone in person. I attribute a lot of my growth as a person to finally getting away from that school. 

She took up acting because the malnutrition she suffered under the nazis permanently damaged her health and prevented her from pursuing her dream to be a ballerina. During the war, she danced to raise money for the resistance - even though she was literally starving, she used what strength she had to make sure more nazis got shot. 

She and her mom also denounced their royal heritage because of the Nazis in their family

These are things I literally never would have known about. I’m tired of women being painted as just being pretty.

I’M SO HAPPY TO SEE HER AT AN OLDER AGE I SWEAR!

For the longest time I assumed she had died really young because I never saw any pictures of her at an older age. She was an amazing woman.

If various companies think that pulling their content from Netflix so they can host their own streaming service will make them sign up to theirs then they are wrong. It will just make me pirate their content again.

The whole point of paying for a streaming was getting all the stuff you like on one place. If I have to pay for multiple streaming services I might as well buy cable.

It’s like they don’t realize that I only stopped stealing as a courtesy to the creators. Make it remotely inconvenient and I’ll go right back to piracy
