all these networks are pulling their content from mainstream streaming services (Netflix, prime video, Hulu) and Hulu is pulling its app from blu ray players and services like Netflix are trying to add commercials to create more revenue and itās like
weāre just going back to cable. weāre just going back to the circumstances that led to Netflix being created. and people are going to feel less and less bad about pirating because no one wants to pay for five million streaming services that donāt even necessarily protect you from ads
Absolute greed on main too. Itās not like these companies donāt already make a shit ton of profit. But itās never enough, is it? Because the definition of success in our capitalist hellscape is a never ending increase in profit margin. If a company just maintains the same heinously unethical profit margin for a few years, you get econ hacks at Forbes or whatever writing pieces about how the company is āfailingā.
Date Night.

straight men deserve a noble piece prize for this
stop spreading this rude ass meme
We should be more careful with what we're sharing
Cartoonist Nathan Pyle, whose Strange Planet alien drawings youāve definitely seen everywhere, was discovered to be anti-abortion today, which serves as a valuable reminder that you should know about the person whose content youāre sharing.
Pyle shares his artwork on Instagram on an account called @NathanWPyleStrangePlanet, which boasts almost 2 million followers. But, he also has a personal Instagram account and Twitter, which reveals a lot more about where he stands on important issues, like a womanās right to choose. Twitter user @anarchopupgirl found a tweet that he posted back in 2017, in which he talked up the anti-abortion March for Life in a post about his former girlfriend. He shared a screenshot of a Facebook post that she had written, which thanked āthe courageous mothersā who did not have abortions, and added, āWhen I think of the #MarchForLife, I first think of the life story of my girlfriend, Soojin. I am thankful she was given the gift of life.ā
When looking at Pyleās personal Instagram, though, itās clear that we shouldnāt have been surprised that he has such conservative views. The first line in his bio is āI follow Jesus,ā which should clue you in about his religious leanings.
Though you may not have followed Pyleās account, youāve no doubt seen his drawings re-posted by others on social media, and maybe even shared some yourself. Finding out about Pyleās problematic views serves as a needed warning to make sure the content that youāre sharing was created by someone who views you as deserving of autonomy over your own body.

ākay now can we start spreading THIS version instead please? Thanks
Holy shit can you imagine looking out your window to see this over across the road.
No, but I can dream.

Fun fact: if you know your feline body language, youāll notice that the lynx is deferring to the housecat. As far as these two are concerned, the housecat is the higher-ranking cat.
OH MY GOSH
Itās because the cat is that lynxās mom

this morning NASA abandoned their mars rover Opportunity (aka Oppy) because it (she) got hit by a storm on Mars and it knocked her camera and wheels out and her last words to the team were āmy battery is low and it is getting coldā. I know sheās a machine but Iām devastated. Oppy is the one who discovered water on Mars. RIP oppy ily space baby
they didnāt abandon her!! they tried eight months to reach her!!!! as their last farewell to her yesterday they played her āIāll be seeing youā by Billie Holiday:
āIāll find you in the morning sun
And when the night is new
Iāll be looking at the moon
But Iāll be seeing youā
They love her so much and they tried so hard!!!

My understanding of any kind of ugly duckling syndrome was that someone who grows up being told they're ugly or unwanted will have a hard time seeing themselves as something other than that even if they're the most gorgeous and loved person in the room. A hyper-sensitivity to their own perceived flaws. Nothing to do with personality? It describes the negative psychological effects of bullying, not "bullying will make people have great personalities!"
I can see that definition better. Rings a little truer to my experience of⦠not evenĀ āugliness,ā just⦠imperfection. Iāve been with Pock for ten years and I still have trouble believing her when she says Iām pretty. Itās something Iāve had to work on for a long time.Ā
I mean the main lesson from Ugly Duckling is that you shouldnāt judge a book by its cover, but I think that more befitting for people in my situation thereās another tune ofĀ āone day, you will find your people and it will be alright.āĀ
I wasnātĀ āforcedā to develop a personality. I had my personality squashed for 18 years because I had to pretend to be something I wasnāt as a survival skill. And then I found my people and had to re-learn how to express myself.Ā
Like⦠being bullied for not meeting some arbitrary and constantly-changing standard doesnāt build character. It builds emotionally screwy adults who canāt take a compliment and shy away from minor decisions for fear of social blowback.Ā
And furthermore!
I resent the idea that being conventionally attractive means you get to skip the personality requirement. Elle Woods had a personality before she went to Harvard. Itās the reason she got intoĀ Harvard.Ā
You canāt pick people apart like that and be mad when they object to unconsented dissection.Ā
āI had my personality squashed for 18 years because I had to pretend to be something I wasnāt as a survival skill. And then I found my people and had to re-learn how to express myself.Ā ā Oh, man, I 100% relate. I went to a private school with the same 11 or so kids until late middle school, and I always felt like the odd-man out. They would bully me relentlessly for it. I wouldnāt talk to anyone about my interests, feeling too geeky. And then I finally started a public school in the 8th grade, and I was pretty closed off until someone invited me to their halloween party, and we talked about our Neopets accounts, and she showed me her manga collection, and it was just like āFINALLY! someone like meā.Ā Like, normal shit for a preteen, but I just hadnāt been exposed to kids with the same interests in real life. Internet friends, sure, but never anyone in person. I attribute a lot of my growth as a person to finally getting away from that school.Ā
She took up acting because the malnutrition she suffered under the nazis permanently damaged her health and prevented her from pursuing her dream to be a ballerina. During the war, she danced to raise money for the resistance - even though she was literally starving, she used what strength she had to make sure more nazis got shot.Ā
She and her mom also denounced their royal heritage because of the Nazis in their family
Also Audrey was a humanitarian until her death,Ā though ill with cancer, she continued her work for UNICEF, travelling to Somalia, Kenya, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, France and the United States.
These are things I literally never would have known about. Iām tired of women being painted as just being pretty.
IāM SO HAPPY TO SEE HER AT AN OLDER AGE I SWEAR!
Hereās another nice one.
For the longest time I assumed she had died really young because I never saw any pictures of her at an older age. She was an amazing woman.
I canāt believe no one has posted a clip of this yet. This is one of the funniest bits in the whole show.

Sheās doing a great job
I mean getting the government running is a priority RN. Iām sure Dems will get to it in time
Like they got around to closing Gitmo right?
the bill wasnt to fund ICE by itself the bill was to FUND THE GOVERNMENT PERIOD. Like seriously voting no to stop funding the government specifically to stop ICE from being funded is 1. not actually going to deal with the problem of abolishing ICE and 2. Only will continue to harm those who are affected by the shutdown. Like those whos families need the welfare programs that the bill voted to fund?? Ā If we want to abolish ICE you dont do that by just sayingĀ āhi i vote to stop funding itā once?? it takes LEGISLATION and WORK. Not just voting on one bill that isnt even focused on the issue at hand.Ā
this is such a bullshit outrage piece and yall keep falling for it. incredible.Ā
If various companies think that pulling their content from Netflix so they can host their own streaming service will make them sign up to theirs then they are wrong. It will just make me pirate their content again.
The whole point of paying for a streaming was getting all the stuff you like on one place. If I have to pay for multiple streaming services I might as well buy cable.
Itās like they donāt realize that I only stopped stealing as a courtesy to the creators. Make it remotely inconvenient and Iāll go right back to piracy
