really thinking about this, but it genuinely would have probably been the worst period of a lot of Orzammar dwarves’ lives. months or years spent angry beyond belief, your trainers making it worse because that’s the goal. feeling volatile, the smallest things making you want to throw and beat things. and when words dont work, or your body forces you down from the adrenaline because it can’t take it anymore, they beat you bruised and bloody to get it back. you can’t take breaks, because the darkspawn aren’t going to wait for you to catch your breath. you are constantly running on an adrenaline high because you haven’t learned to control the rage yet. and to make it all worse? you’re most likely a child, and you’re being prepared for a lifetime of war, your blade pointed at an enemy that doesn’t eat or sleep. this is what it really means to be a dwarven warrior: profound rage, terror, but mostly pain ☹️ get up.
