fun fact: the most common word to express something being Not Good in the english language is the word "bad". This word is sourced from the word bæddel, which is a transmisogynistic slur dating back hundreds of years. Its all transmisogyny!!! All of it!!!!! Its transmisogyny all the way down!!! the most concise and common word to express something being negative in the English language is derived from a transmisogynistic slur. what the fucking fuck. how am i not supposed to lose my mind over how fucking pervasive hatred for trans women is and has always been.

in preparation for this pride month i need all of you to finally learn that ace is NOT aromantic and learn the fucking difference i am so fucking sick and tired of people saying "x character is uninterested in romance, theyre ace :)" NO THEYRE NOT!!! THEYRE AROMANTIC!!!!!!!!!! THATS NOT WHAT ASEXUAL MEANS!!!!!!!!!!!

did you know: it's possible for trans women to do things other than have sex?

i know people are focusing on the transmisogyny aspect of this, but i'd also really appreciate it if they focused on the asexuality aspect. it's really uncomfortable to have allosexuals talk this way to random strangers, but doubly so when that stranger is asexual!

"the concept of queerplatonic relationships originated from the asexual community" and "anyone of any orientation can be in a QPR" and "it's weird to give an overview of QPRs that mentions asexuality without mentioning their significance to so many aromantic people" and "QPRs don't need to be non-sexual" are all true statements that can easily coexist

the asexual double edged sword is that a lot of people, particularly queer discoursers(tm) online, are really really rancid about ace people who have sex, I mean like stunningly awful, so naturally sex favorable/indifferent asexuals will be very keen on making sure that they aren't erased within their own community and that people at large know they exist. at the same time, people are also Very Bad about ace people who don't have sex, and sex averse/repulsed asexuals face a lot of pressure both on societal and interpersonal scales to submit to sex that they don't want, and so naturally it'll really rub them the wrong way to constantly have "but don't worry, ace people can still conform to the societal expectation!" appended to their PSAs about their experiences of asexuality. and so everyone's just kinda upset and annoyed all the time when instead it should be peace and love on planet ace.

One of the worst things to happen to antiracism is the (figurative) PR campaign that convinced us (esp US Americans) that a racist is the worst thing you can possibly be--this makes contronting and unlearning your racism near impossible because we have conflated racism (a systemic, structural problem) with ontological truth (racism as some essential component of our being).
