“How many small actions become great by niyyah,

And how many great actions became small by niyyah”

She said: ‘Because, happiness comes in waves. And so does sorrow. If you’re happy one day, you’ll be sad the other day. And if you’re sad one day, then you’ll be happy the other day. So instead, I ask Allah for peace. For peace settles the heart always.’ 

I never stopped thinking about those words, and I’ve never missed anything more than I miss peace. You don’t need to be happy to be at peace.  

Peace equals tranquility, and then sorrow won’t be as heavy as it is now. 

Do you understand how desperate someone has to be for them to run into the water to get a damaged box of god knows what?

What could have been going through their minds when they jumped into the water? Their children's faces when they come home with a few cans of food? The promise of the family eating together?

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

"There is a chaos in the heart that cannot be brought to order except by one turning to Allāh, and in one's heart is a loneliness that cannot be removed except by finding company with Allāh whilst alone, and in the heart [as well] is a sadness that cannot be distanced except by finding happiness with knowing Allāh."

"What you are asking for goes against nature", so I responded, "I am praying to Him who defies nature"

وَجَزَىٰهُم بِمَا صَبَرُوا۟ جَنَّةً وَحَرِيرًا

"And will reward them for what they patiently endured [with] a garden [in Paradise] and silk [garments]."

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَ عُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا عَمِلْتُ وَمِنْ شَرِّ مَا لَمْ أَعْمَلْ

"O Allah, I seek refuge with You from the evil of what I have done and from the evil of what I have not done yet."

"And seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, it is a burden except for the humble."

Inshaa Allah one day you will say:
