i know it's not fair to compare the writing of recent debut tumblr authors to Terry Pratchett no matter how much they want to be him but reading a discworld really is making me despair at ppl not understanding what makes a metaphor good. Pratchett just hit me with "the silence of the room crowded in like a fist slowly being clenched" and you want to try my patience with sharpened bananas. go home.

One time I wrote something like something something "- rolled like a sea of tar through the streets of the town" about an opinion that was not popular in said town as a part of an assignment in High School and a classmate accused me of plagiarism (this was pre-AI) because he said it was too good for something I had wrote IN FRONT OF THE WHOLE CLASS. So I challenged him and asked the teacher to respectfully just look up the paragraph in question and of course it didn't show up on anything BECAUSE I WROTE it. And I guess my point is that sometimes unpopular metaphors are fun and unique. :D

#I still think about this sometimes because of how crazy this was lol

HAPPY 17 YEARS!! Man does time fly.
