I'm just gonna slide this on in here for anyone that is interested in preserving old games. They take it very seriously too, they want an archive of every single game. Like, they have lists of every game ever released for a system, and once that system gets old enough, they add it to their archive and start collecting. Their latest addition was the Xbox 360, they opened that vault up in September 2022, and proudly announced they'd finished their collection of games for it back in April.

Also, while their game archives are almost entirely complete, they've got another project of archiving the manuals that came with those games, and that is... considerably less well filled out. Their collection of Xbox 360 manuals is especially rough, they've only gotten manuals for three games. So if you've got some Xbox 360 games kicking around, and the manual's still with them, please consider scanning them and submitting them to the site!

were the world cup results fixed? probably, idc. i still believe Argentina couldve gotten to the finals without help, and Spain probably wouldve won anyways without help too, but that genuinely doesnt matter at all. like if there's anyone to get mad at here it's just FIFA, why Argentina?

and i understand not liking us for being proud or annoying or whatever, but to say we're the most racist country is kind of a stretch no?? and i won't deny that our president is a zionist but seeing this criticism coming from mainly americans is so hypocritical. how come you, an american, can be opposed to your government, but we as Argentinians can't? do you see us as less capable of critical thought than you?

i also won't say there is no racism in Argentina because that's just fucking stupid, but i just feel like you guys just reduce us to the small percentage of our population who lives in CABA and thinks they're "too good" to be latin american, and decide to ignore the rest of us who are proud of it

I do, actually have some advice. This country welcomes immigrants with open arms, you'll have a very easy time coming here and an easy time becoming argentinian by law. First, learn Spanish. Don't come here pretending that everyone speak to you in English. Second, the people will share food, drink and culture with you.

It is imperative that you try what is offered to you

the difference between a settler from the Global North coming to gentrify and someone who genuinely wants to share in the beauty of being human is whether they believe they're above us or not. Please don't be that person. If you're offered mate, at least try it a few times. It won't be yummy at first for most people, but you can add sugar or milk to make it more palatable until you get used to it.

People will kiss you on the cheek, hug you, pat you and generally be more into contact than anyone on the USA or northern Europe. let them. Don't be a jerk, refusing a kiss on the cheek here is pretty much a sign that you don't like that person. Become familiar with casual affection, it's one of the beauties of Argentina.

Please shed your ideas of food availability. Food is extremely expensive in off season here. Adapt to this. Forget about year round cheap fruit and learn about winter mandarinas, summer melones, and so!

Clothes: buy them at ferias instead of shops. You'll be participating in popular economy and not gentrifying.

Get a job here, please. Don't be a digital nomad, that's the top 1 Gentrificator these days and it makes everything shittier for Argentinians in the long run.
