Words?

To anyone out there who even humors these chapters, know I do appreciate it. I do intend on finishing this series. I've gone too far not to. The depression has been kicking my butt (Life stuff. Although also the state of the fandom hasn't been helping me either) but I'm at least dedicated.

Aziraphale had been watching his demon intensely.  Crowley may not have known for how long, but he noticed it eventually.  He was hurting too, obviously.  Aziraphale was not immune to the hurt humans felt.  Or the idea of dead children… That was his angel after all.  Then his expression changed.  Still hurt, but serene.  Encouraging.  Loving?  “Crowley.  Could you fetch me a book?”

“Sure Angel.”  Crowley grunted as he straightened himself up.

As the redhead rummaged through the magic closet, the angel decided to address the preverbal elephant in the room.  In his own… Aziraphale way.  “Death isn’t any of hell’s business, you know.”  Naturally, the humans looked very confused.  “You see. Hell may punish wicked souls, but in truth, they just deal with whoever they’re given.  Death is a different department.”

“Heaven?”  Bethany asked.

“A third party.”  He answered cryptically.  Crowley raised an eyebrow at this.

“The grim reaper, right?”  Jay chimed in eagerly before elbowing Silent Bob’s shoulder.  “Like on that Blue Oyster Cult joint.”

“Well, him as well.”  Aziraphale smiled nervously.  “Over time, a new option was created-“

“Shush Angel!”  Crowley hastily hushed him.  “Don’t jinx it.”

The angel was confused at first and looked to his friend in alarm.  But once he noticed the demon looking anxiously out the train window, he got a pretty good idea of what he was implying.  He rolled his eyes.  “Oh come now, Crowley, that’s not how it works.”

“And how would you know?”  He huffed in response and then flailed his arms dramatically.  “He’s everywhere.”

But he shook his head.  “If you could summon someone by just saying their name, you’d never leave the bookshop.”
