I think it’s so interesting that in Shauna’s hallucination the wilderness baby is blonde and wears the same white and blue stripy top, like Jackie was wearing when she died.

It’s almost like Shauna subconsciously thinks the baby is Jackie’s not Jeff’s, since in the grand scheme of things Jeff was a proxy for Jackie. Shauna never saw Jeff as Jeff, she saw him as Jackie, the one thing she wanted so badly that she went the worst way about it just to feel like she was with her. The Jackieshauna of it all 😔

one of the tragedies of twin peaks that often gets overlooked (something that’s easy to do with anything david lynch created, his art has an adversarial relationship to the viewer on purpose) is that the one person we’re led to believe could have saved laura if he had come sooner still wouldn’t have been able to save her because Special Agent Dale Cooper is too enamored with twin peaks and loving the town means being unable to see what it’s doing to laura. coop is a character and therefore doesn’t have the same perspective as the audience, meaning he can’t see the town as the antagonist. to him, the town is just a town with great coffee and cherry pie, and failing to see the town as the thing that killed laura means she still dies even if the person who could stop it is there.
