and I'd like to remind everyone that the only solid "treatment" they've come up with so far is a total hysterectomy (surgical removal of the entire uterus and cervix).

That's right. The standard "treatments" for adenomyosis (a condition in which one's uterus could very easily double or triple in size) are:

• Option A: "Manage" the pain with over the counter NSAIDS (which may also trigger flares). Good luck to your liver in the long run.

• Option B: Have your doctor pierce your cervix with an IUD. This won't stop adenomyosis from progressing, but it's something a lot of OBGYNs like to recommend when they don't have a clue what else to do.

• Option C: Hang on a few decades until menopause, and hope the pain subsides then (not guaranteed, also the uterus will not magically shrink).

• Option D: Get sterilized.
