there's something so sweet about david noticing how much ilya was enjoying the pasta and moving the pot and the cheese near him.

more than anything this is the line that feels like a confession to me. there's something about ilya rozanov, known emotions denier, feelings deflecter, being strong enough, desperate enough to admit that he was scared. he was scared to see shane lying unconscious on the ice, scared to lose him. lose yet another person he loved.
