dead!

he’d be lying if he said he never thought about it before. when they were together, all that seth could think about was that allison was the only person he could see himself having a future with. he couldn’t say what that future was, and he knew that she was too good for him, but allison was the only certain in his life. 

still ... he said it completely on accident. 

it’s been only a few days since he woke up. seth’s body was still hurting in places he never felt before and his mind was slower than usual    something he blamed both in the drugs that were injeted on him and on the coma that they put him into. allison was his usual company on that damn hospital room, but wymack was there today, explaining what they had to do so seth wouldn’t be expelled from psu.

when he first said that      ‘ kid, we got them to agree on letting you stay ’    it was like a weight was lifted from seth’s chest. admittedly, he was the first one to remind the world that the foxes weren’t much, but it was all seth had. then the coach proceeded to explain how they did it, but seth honestly stopped listening to the man after he talked about allison’s role in all of that. 

‘ she stormed into the meeting, which almost gave me a heart attack, to say to the board that there was no way you were using it again and, you know her, she made them listen ’   wymack’s voice was just white noise as seth stared at her. the words left his mouth before he could realize 

                                                       “ marry me ”

the silence on the room was thick and he could imagine wymack’s face, but seth’s eyes could only see her. seconds passes. he’s vaguely aware that the coach gave an excuse to leave the room. it feels like an eternity until allison talks: ‘ did you really mean what you said? ’

at first, seth would easily say that he wasn’t serious, that it was just a reaction, albeit a truly sincere one. however, the awkward silence made him feel the weight of his own words and seth realized that, yes, he meant it. 

they were far from perfect, he was still a big mess and she still deserved more, but he never felt more certain in his life 

maybe the whole nearly dying experience was affecting him.

no matter how much time passed, seth would always feel a chill when matched to andrew ability to avoid any kind of emotion on his face. it was diametrically opposite to seth, who wore his emotions on his face    and fists. didn’t mean he feared andrew, like some looked to be. maybe it was part of his innate death wish             maybe he was, still, a little afraid of the shortest fox. 

he pressed pause on the game, shrugging before even saying anything. he could understand the surprise to see him there, if that’s what motivated andrew to even talk to him. seth himself once thought he’d never come back to palmetto after graduating. but ...  allison was still there. the foxes were still there. and his new team was only a few hours away so ...  why not ?

seth almost laughed, being only stopped by the heavy vibe around the room. even he could sense that the foxes were all on edge, and it was a strange feeling for him          he definitely wasn’t used to be the optimistic one. not that he couldn’t understand why his teammates were freaking out. ever since the raven’s fans started attacking them directly, the foxes ready to snap like an overstretched elastic. 

to be quite honest, seth was mad too, but that wasn’t a feeling he was unused to. that quiet, cold rage was his fuel since the day he left rehab, so it was a bit easier for him to keep his head in the right place.

five years playing with the foxes meant that seth had his fair share of official exy banquets under his belt already. they were always a surprise :  either he had fun or he had the worst time of his life ( he was high for at least two of them, so they don’t count ). It usually depended on whether him and allison were together or not. thankfully, they’re good now.

upon hearing her words, seth’s lips curved into a smile and he leaned closer to his girlfriend. roamed his eyes around room for just a moment, making sure that wymack wasn’t close to complain about the two of them running away from the party.

matt had told him about that terrible habit of neil, but it was the first time seth had seen and heard it with his own senses. gotta say :   he was not impressed. the older man stared at neil with an unusual a deadpan face. he stayed in silence for a moment, taking in neil’s face :  even if the younger hadn’t said anything, it didn’t take much to noticed that either he wasn’t sleeping well, or he was on the verge of dying. 

at least it wasn’t the second option yet.

it should scare seth the fact that he’s first reaction to neil’s words was to lick his lips, but he was completely desensitized to his reactions ever since he woke up from death. it was really weird at first. his mind was foggy and all he could think of was blood. the irrational urge had gone away, but seth was still a newborn vampire and the mere mention of blood was enough to make his mouth water.
