meme // @foxten said:Â â you didnât have to come ya know? iâm glad you did though. â (for andrew)
Clad in nearly all black, leaned up against an expensive vehicle, Andrew stuck out like a sore thumb compared to most beach-goers around here. Regardless, the beach was empty except for one redhead currently walking towards the vehicle. In the dwindling light, Andrewâs hazel eyes flashed gold as they flicked over Neil, seemingly bored, taking in every detail from the reddened eyes to the abused bottom lip. He didnât speak as he snuffed his cigarette and opened the driverâs side.
The noises of the ocean and the beach entered in through the rolled down windows of the Maserati. Minutes stretched onwards and the silence between them remained until Neil ended it. Andrew stopped his bored staring and settled his gaze towards Neil, following an annoyed roll of his eyes. Any other partner was supposed to have words of comfort, warm sympathy, anything to ease some of the hurt. But Neil knew well enough that Andrew wasnât any other partner.
Instead, he continued to look at the redhead. âYes or no?â He asked quietly, only as loud as he needed to be. At the little incline of Neilâs head, Andrew reached for him and settled his calloused palm on the side of his neck. His thumb stroked over the soft skin of his jaw and his gold gaze remained looking into Neilâs blue.
He wasnât going to say âyouâre welcomeâ or pretend there was any sympathy in him. Neil knew better than to expect that. But he could give him this much; he could be a grounding force with whatever ridiculous, irksome storm of bullshit Neilâs mind put him through. These werenât the kind of battles that Andrew could help him fight.
