Walt Disney World
Been busy planning my trip and now the time has come! I’ll be in Florida starting tomorrow. Thank you everyone for all the awesome tips for my first trip ever, maybe I’ll see some of you guys there? I’ll be at Hollywood Studios 11/13, Magic Kingdom 11/14, Epcot 11/15 and Animal Kingdom 11/16. Might also be park hopping too :) So excited!
Since you didn't live at the complex for your dcp did you still pay the $900 cost or was it lower for you?
I am a local so I just continued to live at home and commuted to work. I wasn’t charged any kind of rent or fees for housing.
hi! i was wondering how much you got payed per week during your time at the Disney college program. I'm really worried about finances while being there. I know currently the wages range from $10-12.31 dollars an hour dependent on the job. I also known that currently at disneyland the rent for housing is 149.50 (about) per week. I mean I guess it all depends on the amount of time but i'm just super worried.
Oof yeah this is a tough one. As a stores cast member, I am currently making 10.30 an hour, but if you came in now I think you would make a little less because i received an annual wage increase. Its basically minimum wage though. This may get a bit long so I’m sticking read more here.TL;DR: We don’t make alot of money but its livable if you budget.
Hello, I wanted to asked how long did it take for you to know you were accepted to the dcp? I've done all the application process and waiting to hear back if I got in the DLRCP but it's already been over a month and I'm slowly losing hope already. It's okay if I don't get accepted because I'll still try again but idk if I should just be already anticipating the NLIC post or just have a little bit of hope still. Thanks you so much for your time and I love your Disney posts!!!
It took about a month for me to find out if I made it in or not. I applied the very first day applications came out (Jan 27) and received my acceptance on Feb 20. From what I gathered, Disney releases acceptances in waves and I believe I was in the 3rd wave of acceptances, so don’t fret too much! I know how nerve wracking the wait is. There was alot of people who got their acceptances much later, I was actually in the earlier groups so I lucked out!

It’s literally called SPLASH mountain. C’mon folks.
I just had to share this ad I saw in our cast member magazine hahaha 😂
Walt Disney World!
Hello everyone! Some exciting news here (for me haha). I’m planning my first trip ever to Walt Disney World in November! Now, I know Disneyland like the back of my hand, but Disney world? Nothing. Nada. So I’m reaching out to all of you folks, I know alot of you have great knowledge on the parks there. Whether its about fastpasses, attractions, characters or fireworks seatings; it would all be so helpful! Would you guys mind sharing your tips and tricks with me?
I've always found working retail to be an incredibly stressful and rather weird job, and I imagine doing that at a place like Disneyland would be even more so. With that in mind, do you think the good experiences more then make up the aggravating ones?
This is my first job (and oh my god I think I’ve ruined myself for any other retail job) so I can’t really compare to any other job. That being said, I’m tacking on a read more because this is probably going to be a really long one.
Some inner thoughts. Sorry if this offends anyones sense of style haha

Making that magic! ✨✨✨ #disneyland
Speaking of Guest Compliments! It goes on our record card and we get this nice certificate along with a mickey embossed card with nice comments you leave for us at city hall. So if you ever get the chance, please DO leave compliments for cast members who go above and beyond :) it’ll make thier day!
So we got new bubble wands in the park. Not everyone is thrilled.
Hey! I saw the question about giving Cast Members compliments. I worked at Walt Disney World and you could go to Guest Relations at any of the parks, tell them that you wanted to acknowledge a certain Cast Member, and they would take down the Cast Member's name, where they worked, and a description of what you wanted to give them praise for. Emailing WDW is also an option, but highly recommend getting the cast member's name and where they are from.
Thank you! It’s truly such a great thing to do for a cast member because it goes on thier record card for management to look upon when they want to move up in the company!

I noticed you posted a picture about a guest compliment, who would I speak to if I wanted to give a cast member a compliment like that? I've met some really nice cast members over the years but didn't know that was a thing. Is it it a thing at WDW too?
It is! A guest compliment is one of the best things you can receive as a cast member because it means you made someones day so great that they wanted to recognize you for it!Over at Disneyland you can go over to city hall on main street to leave one and I believe you can also do it online through email as well; there should be a contact us page on the website. I’m sure this is also a thing at WDW, would any WDW cast members be able to fill me in on the process over there? I’ll update accordingly :)
How often do you post your story drawings?
I wish I had set days, and if youve been following for a while you’d notice I’m a bit sporadic about it haha. I know its been a while since the last update, I promise I’m getting back into it soon! Not gonna lie though, I’ve been inactive as of late because I’m pursuing my dream of becoming a pokemon master!
