How long would a fic submission have to be for the amalgam zine? And what would be the maximum word count?
there’s no minimum word count! the max is a soft cap of 5000 words, but we can potentially work around it if it’s a little longer :)

have you ever wanted to put your favorite characters or universes in a blender? well do we have an opportunity for you
inspired by the amalgam comics imprint put out by dc and marvel in the 90s, this zine invites you to mash up literally anything you can think of, as long as at least one part comes from dc! you can pull from other comic companies (marvel, image, idw, etc), cartoons, books, television shows, movies - the sky's the limit!

UPCOMING PROJECT SCHEDULE

Amalgam Zine (July 2026)
This zine will spotlight participants' crossovers between DC's universe and any other universe! This could certainly be Marvel (the inspiration for this project), but the sky's the limit.
48-Hour Speedster Zine (Early September 2026)
The fastest zine alive! This zine will be made and published within 48 hours of starting work on it, and will focus on DC's speedster characters.
Supernatural Zine (Late September 2026)
Just in time for Halloween (we'll be aiming for an October 31st release date), this zine will be about DC's magical, mystical, or otherwise supernatural characters and elements.
Absolute Fanzine V2 (November 2026)
The second edition of the zine that started this project! It'll focus on the Absolute universe, both its canon characters and any fan versions that participants come up with.
Rarepair Zine (January 2027)
For Valentine's Day we'll have our rarepair zine! This will include both platonic and romantic relationships.
Super-Pets Zine (TBD)
Calling all super-companions furry, feathery, or scaly! This zine celebrates both already existing pets as well as your own invented ones.
OC Speed-Dating Zine (TBD)
Branching out from our DC focus, this zine will be for OCs from any fandom (or original work) to be paired up together!
Who's Who V2 (TBD)
The second edition of our Who's Who zine, focusing on reinterpretations of canon characters as well as original ones!
All zines will be digital-only and free to download. They're also likely to include instructions for you to print them at home or using a print shop!
