The script for Half-Life Alyx originally called for her to ask the G-Man, "what are you"; in the final game, this was changed to "who are you", but his response remained "Perhaps what I am is ..." (emphasis mine in all cases). This means that in the game we got, he went out of his way to identify himself as a "what" instead of a "who" on purpose.

Why are people having children? Isn't life hard enough as is? Tldw; there is majority support in the European Parliament for a bill that would cover most of SKG's issues, and if passed this would bypass the decision of the Commission. There are also ongoing lawsuits in France and other places that would likely lead to some legislation. There is also a bill being worked on in California that wouldn't stop current games from being killed, but would stop future games from being killed
