When mc infiltrates his room, he doesnt even blame MC. I felt like he was wanting/had a hope that MC wasnāt bad person. āHunchā
I like how this is flipped in masquerade kiss. Itās usually mc who has to deal with all those ātrustā issues.
Masquerade kissās MC/comparison b/w Eisuke and Shido
Can I just go ahead and say I LOVE THIS MC? Like dam, she is sassy and isnt afraid to talk back, but at the same time she is kind and genuine like other MCs. I canāt wait till future releases! I feel like mcĆguy gonna be badass couple in masquerade kiss! (I cant wait to see developments between two!) We finally have MC who can help scheme with main guys (than just being protected 100%). Donāt get me wrong. I wish this mc has some vulnerable sides too, but I like the fact that they are standing on āequalā ground.
Shido was also surprisingly VERY genuine. Maybe bcs MC was genuine. But he was nowhere close to what I imagined. I can see the resemblance between him and Eisuke, but personality wise, they were VERY different. Few of different things were:
Unlike Eisuke, Shido LIKES crowded places. He doesnāt at all mind acting like 'commonerā or doing what they do(thatās how he does business with resorts).
More approachable. Shido talks more than Eisuke, and I felt like he was more approachable in general.
He has an image of being a 'womanizerā (but actually he isnāt that big of womanizerā¦.). In fact, he acts nice to them for ulterior motives(to figure out what they are scheming). But hates to core that they are only for his money and power.
More expressive than Eisuke (in general)
Some things similar:
Filthy rich
sweet tooth
Both have tragic past (eisukeās real father went bankrupt and ran away. Similar thing with Shido, except he was so poor that he had to live in the streets for years)
Actually lonely cinnamon roll who WANTS PPL TO NOTICE THAT THEY ARE LONELY
Only act nice to certain people who are suspicious, and once they figure out, they are both ruthless (eisuke will say āgtfo of my sightā. Shido will probably throw sarcastic comments and try to kill them or prison them LOOL)
Both had a lot of women (one night stand) before MC came to their life.
They both have āhunchesā when it comes to villains.
I can definitely see him and Eisuke getting along.
Yet somehow, MC will default to scatter brain, I promise you. I really, really (Please for the love of otome, let me be wrong!) hope Iām wrong and MC will be able to finally be more competent. Like Iām begging you Voltage, donāt set up with the top and then during a mission give us the bottom.
It would be unbelievable. In that, such a highly skilled, seasoned and professional agent, would suddenly be unable to tie her own shoe laces.(Iām exaggerating of course) Or some other highly irritating ridiculously simple thing.
Holy shiet so Iām not the only one that feels like this. Seriously I could go ON A RANT about how much some particular MCs annoy me. And because of that it keeps me from enjoying the game. Iām giving this game a chance(yes, even despite the love choice type that voltage enforced) because this MC might actually give me what I want for once, fingers crossed š¤
And also: I saw that her profile that it says in private sheās scatterbrained and is what you would consider fangirlish and naive...BUT the fact that she can separate and distinguish these two sides of her personality is what I can admire and find impressive

Women In History
I grew up believing that women had contributed nothing to the world until the 1960ā²s. So once I became a feminist I started collecting information on women in history, and hereās my collection so far, in no particular order.Ā
Lepa Svetozara RadiÄ (1925ā1943) was a partisan executed at the age of 17 for shooting at German soldiers during WW2. As her captors tied the noose around her neck, they offered her a way out of the gallows by revealing her comrades and leaders identities. She responded that she was not a traitor to her people and they would reveal themselves when they avenged her death. She was the youngest winner of the Order of the Peopleās Hero of Yugoslavia, awarded in 1951
23 year oldĀ Phyllis Latour Doyle was British spy who parachuted into occupied Normandy in 1944 on a reconnaissance mission in preparation for D-day. She relayed 135 secret messages before France was finally liberated.Ā
Catherine Leroy, War Photographer starting with the Vietnam war. She was taken a prisoner of war. When released she continued to be a war photographer until her death in 2006.
Lieutenant Pavlichenko was a Ukrainian sniper in WWII, with a total of 309 kills, including 36 enemy snipers. After being wounded, she toured the US to promote friendship between the two countries, and was calledĀ āfatā by one of her interviewers, which she found rather amusing.Ā
Johanna Hannie āJannetjeā Schaft was born in Haarlem. She studied in Amsterdam had many Jewish friends. During WWII she aided many people who were hiding from the Germans and began working in resistance movements. She helped to assassinate two nazis. She was later captured and executed. Her last words wereĀ āI shoot better than you.ā.Ā
Nancy wake was a resistance spy in WWII, and was so hated by the Germans that at one point she was their most wanted person with a price of 5 million francs on her head. During one of her missions, while parachuting into occupied France, her parachute became tangled in a tree. A french agent commented that he wished that all trees would bear such beautiful fruit, to which she repliedĀ āDonāt give me any of that French shit!ā, and later that evening she killed a German sentry with her bare hands.Ā
After her husband was killed in WWII, Violette Szabo began working for the resistance. In her work, she helped to sabotage a railroad and passed along secret information. She was captured and executed at a concentration camp at age 23.Ā
Grace Hopper was a computer scientist who invented the first ever compiler. Her invention makes every single computer program you use possible.Ā
Mona Louise Parsons was a member of an informal resistance group in the Netherlands during WWII. After her resistance network was infiltrated, she was captured and was the first Canadian woman to be imprisoned by the Nazis. She was originally sentenced to death by firing squad, but the sentence was lowered to hard lard labor in a prison camp. She escaped.Ā
Simone Segouin was a Parisian rebel who killed an unknown number of Germans and captured 25 with the aid of her submachine gun. She was present at the liberation of Paris and was later awarded theĀ ācroix de guerreā.Ā
Mary Edwards Walker is the only woman to have ever won an American Medal of Honor. She earned it for her work as a surgeon during the Civil War. It was revoked in 1917, but she wore it until hear death two years later. It was restored posthumously.Ā
Italian neuroscientist won a Nobel Prize for her discovery of nerve growth factor. She died aged 103.Ā
EDIT
jinxedinks added: Her name was Rita Levi-Montalcini. She was jewish, and so from 1938 until the end of the fascist regime in Italy she was forbidden from working at university. She set up a makeshift lab in her bedroom and continued with her research throughout the war. Ā
A snapshot of the women of color in the womanās army corps on Staten Island
This is an ongoing project of mine, and Iāll update this as much as I can (Itās not all WWII stuff, Iāve got separate folders for separate achievements).Ā
File this under: The History I Wish Iād Been Taught As A Little Girl
Part 2
Annie Jump Cannon was an american astronomer and, in addition to possibly having one of the best names in history, was co-creator of one of the first scientific classification systems of stars, based on temperature.Ā
Melba Roy Moutan was a Harvard educated mathematician who led a team of mathematicians at NASA, nicknamedĀ āComputersā for their number processing prowess.Ā
Joyce Jacobson Kaufman was a chemist who developed the concept of conformational topology, and studied at Johns Hopkins University before it officially allowed women entry in 1970.Ā
Vera Rubin is an astronomer and has co-authored 114 peer reviewed papers. She specializes in the study of dark matter and galaxy rotation rates.Ā
Mary Sherman Morgan was a rocket scientist who invented hydyne, a liquid fuel that powered the USAās Jupiter C-rocket.Ā
Chien-Siung Wu was a physicist who worked on the Manhattan Project, as well as experimental radioactive studies. She was the first woman to become president of the American Physical Society.Ā
Mildred Catherine RebstockĀ was the first person to synthesize the antibiotic chloromycetin.
Ruby Hirose was a chemist who conducted vital research about an infant paralysis vaccine.Ā
Hattie Elizabeth Alexander was a pediatrician and microbiologist who developed a remedy forĀ Haemophilus influenzae, and conducted vital research on antibiotic resistance.Ā
Marie Tharp was a scientist who mapped the floor of the Atlantic Ocean and provided proof of continental drift.Ā
Mae Jamison is an astronaut who holds a degree in chemical engineering from Stanford University and was the first black woman in space.
Ada Lovelace was a mathematician and considered to be the worldās first computer programmer.Ā
Patricia E Bath isĀ ophthalmologist and the inventor of the Laserphaco Probe, which is used to treat cataracts.Ā
Barbara McClintock won a Nobel prize for her discovery that genes could move in and between chromosomes.
Thatās it for now, part three will be on its way. (Josephine Baker was requested in the first installment, just know I did not forget her! Sheās in a different folder, titledĀ āfamous people you didnāt know were complete badasses, and she, along with Hedy Lamar and Audrey Hepburn will be in the next installment :) )
Part 3
Josephine Baker, though today remembered for her dancing, singing, and larger than life personality, actually played a significant role in WWII. She joinedĀ Womenās Auxiliary of the Free French Air Force, got her pilotās license in 1933, and by 1944 she raised 3,143,000 francs for the war effort.Ā She entertained the troops, which was a doubly whammy of justice. She refused to entertain segregated troops, so the French military was forced to integrate the troops for all her performances. She also smuggled secret messages in her music across countless borders.Ā
Audrey Hepburn is known as one of the most beautiful and talent actresses of the 1950ā²s, but her contributions to the world started far before her first film and continued until well after her cinematic heyday. In WWII stricken Austria, Audrey, then an aspiring ballerina, would give secret ballet performances to raise money for the Austrian resistance. She even helped smuggle secret messages for the resistance. On one such occasion, she was stopped by an enemy soldier. He asked her what she was doing and she, pretending not to understand, presented him with a bouquet of wildflowers sheād been absentmindedly picking. She was let go and the message was delivered safely. It was her experience in the war which would later prompt her to become one of the founders of UNICEF.Ā
Hedy Lamarr was an actress well known for her piercing gaze and deadpan wit. What sheās less known for is being a brilliant mathematician who invented the frequency hopping spread spectrum. Without her invention, we wouldnāt have bluetooth or wifi.Ā
Ching Shih was one of the worldās most successful pirates. At the death of her (pirate) husband, the former prostitute took command of his ships and started her pirating career. At the height of her career she commandedĀ 1800 ships and more than 80,000 male and female pirates. She became powerful enough to challenge every empireās naval forces in the world and her Red Flag Fleet was feared from the Chinese coast to Malaysia. Unable to defeat her, the Chinese government caved and offered her amnesty. She surprised everyone by taking it and became one of the few pirates in history to retire. She also took care of her crew even after her retirement; most of Chingās pirates were pardoned. She died a respectable millionaire.Ā
Sophie School was an active member of the White Rose non-violent resistance group in WWII Germany. In 1943 she, along with her brother and the rest of the White Rose were arrested for passing out leaflets encouraging passive resistance. She and her brother were beheaded by guillotine just a few hours later. Her last words wereĀ āHow can we expect righteousness to prevail when there is hardly anyone willing to give himself up individually to a righteous cause. Such a fine, sunny day, and I have to go, but what does my death matter, if through us, thousands of people are awakened and stirred to action?ā
(Written by Emporer-of-nerds) Constance Markievicz (was a)Ā Very important figure in the Irish independence movement, first woman elected to the British House of Commons, and one of the first women to hold a cabinet position in government (Minister for Labour of the Irish Republic (which was a short-lived revolutionary state predating the current Ireland/Ćire))!
Lady Mary Wortley Montagu was an English ambassador to Turkey in the early 1700s, and documented her experience carefully. When she saw the Turkish perform an early method of small-pox vaccination, she urgently wrote home. She is responsible for the firstĀ variolation small-pox vaccinations in Europe.Ā
Marie Curie is fairly well known. Unfortunately sheās often known as theĀ āassistantā to her husband. She was a pioneering physicist and chemist, whoās work with radiation was groundbreaking. She was the first woman to win a Nobel prize and the only one to win one in two fields for her discovery of polonium and uranium. Itās also notable that she was the first woman in Europe to receive a doctorate degree. Her discoveries made the x-ray machine possible, and Curie immediately put it to work. She invented a small, mobile type of x-ray machine and worked with her daughter at casualty collection points in WWI, using the machine to locate shrapnel and bullets in wounded soldiers. She died of pernicious anemia, a result of years of radioactive exposure. Many of her notebooks are still too radioactive to be read.Ā
Margherita Hack was an Italian astrophysicist and became administrator of theĀ Trieste Astronomical Observatory, bringing it to renowned respect and fame. She was a prolific science writer and was awarded theĀ Targa Giuseppe Piazzi for the scientific research, and later the Cortina Ulisse Prize for scientific dissemination.Ā Asteroid 8558 Hack, discovered in 1995, was named in her honor.
(This installment was a little all over the place as far as achievements go, and short, since it was mostly requests! Hypatia of Alexandria was also requested but she, along with Sappho and others, are getting their own installment. The next installment will center around women of the literary world!)
Great respect for this!
Note that there were many many more, both before and after photography was invented.
Donāt ever let some fuckboy tell you that women just cleaned and cooked until very recently.
So important.
yo stop what ur doin rn and wish my man godzilla a happy birthday
HAPPY BIRTHDAY U FUNKY LITTLE LIZARD

Hereās the thing about the air nomads.
I introduced a friend to ATLA a few nights ago, and they had only known two things about the entire show: the cabbage meme, and that Aang apparently wants to ride every large and dangerous animal he can possibly find. We got through the first five or so episodes, and my friend noted that Aang is exactly what a 12-year-old would be like if given godlike powers, and that this is literally just what he could do with airbending. He canāt even wield any of the other elements, and heās one of the most powerful people on the planet, because heās an airbender.
And that got me thinking.
This snippet from Bitter Work is one of the few pieces of concrete information we get about the airbenders, at least in ATLA. Iroh is explaining to Zuko how all four of the elements connect to the world and to each other.
Fire is the element of power, of desire and will, of ambition and the ability to see it through. Power is crucial to the world; without it, thereās no drive, no momentum, no push. But fire can easily grow out of control and become dangerous; it can become unpredictable, unless it is nurtured and watched and structured.
Earth is the element of substance, persistence, and enduring. Earth is strong, consistent, and blunt. It can construct things with a sense of permanence; a house, a town, a walled city. But earth is also stubborn; itās liable to get stuck, dig in, and stay put even when itās best to move on.
Water is the element of change, of adaptation, of movement. Water is incredibly powerful both as a liquid and a solid; it will flow and redirect. But it also will change, even when you donāt want it to; ice will melt, liquid will evaporate. A life dedicated to change necessarily involves constant movement, never putting down roots, never letting yourself become too comfortable.
We see only a few flashbacks to Aangās life in the temples, and we get a sense of who he was and what kind of upbringing he had.
This is a preteen with the power to fucking fly. Heās got no fear of falling, and a much reduced fear of death. Thereās a reason why the sages avoid telling the new avatar their status until they turn sixteen; could you imagine a firebender, at twelve years old, learning that they were going to be the most powerful person in the whole world? Depending on that child, that could go so badly.
But the thing about Aang, and the thing about the Air Nomads, is that they were part of the world too. They contributed to the balance, and then they were all but wiped out by Sozin. What was lost, there? Was it freedom? Yes, but I think thereās something else too, and itās just yet another piece of the utter brilliance of the worldbuilding of ATLA.
To recap: we have power to push us forward; we have stability to keep us strong; we have change to keep us moving.
And then we have this guy.
The air nomads brought fun to the world. They brought a very literal sense of lightheartedness.
Sozin saw this as a weakness. I think a lot of the world did, in ATLA. Why do the Air Nomads bother, right? Theyāre just up there in their temples, playing games, baking pies in order to throw them as a gag. As Iroh said above, they had pretty great senses of humour, and they didnāt take themselves too seriously.
But thatās a huge part of having a world of balance and peace.
Itās not just about power, or might, or the ability to adapt. You can have all of those, but you also need fun. You need the ability to be vulnerable, to have no ambitions beyond just having a good day. You need to be able to embrace silliness, to nurture play, to have that space where a very specific kind of emotional growth can occur. Fun makes a hard life a little easier. Fun makes your own mortality a little less frightening to grasp. Fun is the spaces in between, that canāt be measured by money or military might. Fun is what nurtures imagination, allows you to see a situation in a whole new light, to find new solutions to problems previously considered impossible.
Fun is what makes a stranger into a friend, rather than an enemy.
Fun helps you see past your differences.
Fun is what fuels curiosity and openmindedness.
Fun is the first thing to die in a war.
OP went and ended hard with the last line.

REBLOG ESPECIALLY MY DMV FOLLOWERS
I keep seeing shit about folks getting kidnapped and shit in the dmv
Thatās wild
what the fuck?? how did you know this was a sex trafficking tactic?? I would have let her in my car jesus⦠how do you avoid this??
@loving-women-is-rad I can explain why this is obvious.
itās the fact that she wanted to go into her isolated car instead of into the public building. going to her car gets her alone, where as going inside the well lit building with other people gets her around people who could protect both of them from the people sheās claiming are after her.
any actual victim will go straight for a well populated area. they may want youĀ to come with them for help, but they would never try and get you away from a populated area and into an isolated car unless the car was the only option, because a dark car late at night is a fantastic way to isolate and capture a mark without anyoneās notice.
other tactics often used include:
1) pretending to be a heavily pregnant woman stuck out in bad weather sheās not dressed for and asking a good samaritan who asked her if sheās ok to buy her some coffee. if the woman refuses money and wants you to go with her specifically, becoming agitated when you donāt agree and only offer her cash, this is a trick. the person who found this out managed to follow a woman doing this and saw her arguing with another woman and two men. the men insisted she needed to be more convincing so people would be more sympathetic, and she watched her tell him to be the one out in the snow in the thin hoodie and fake belly, and she watched her take off a fake baby bump.
(someone taking the money can still be a scam, but itās a scam for money, and not to traffic you. traffickers want to get you to leave a populated area, so refusing to go with them will upset them, and thatās the biggest reveal of their true intentions.)
2) a woman banging on your door screaming that a man is chasing her and begging you to let her in, saying heās going to rape her if you donāt let her in. this was brought to everyoneās attention by a teenager who shared his story about it. his mother wanted to help her, but her husband had grown up in a ābad part of townā and wasnāt so trusting. he unlocked the door but not the chain lock and handed her a brick, telling her his family was calling the police and he would stay with her at the door. if the person did show up she could use the brick to defend herself and he would come out with his..I think itĀ was a baseball bat and help her fight him off. she became very angry, asking what was wrong with them and demanding they let her in. his only response was to close and lock the door again. she got quiet and when the police got there, she was gone but the brick was just sitting on one of their steps.
the next night the police were back, as the woman showed up again at someone elseās doorstep doing the exact same thing, only this time an officer was basically already there. that family had let her in, and she in turn let her partner in who proceeded to murder the entire family before being caught by the officer.
3) similarly, men have been known to use a recording of a baby crying playing at womensā doorsteps in order to entice them into opening the door, this giveaway being that A) itās recorded and thatās usually fairly obvious, but also that after a little while, the sound will move, typically under windows around the front of the house, something an actual baby clearly canāt do on its own, and is clearly someone attempting to get closer to the presumed sleeping women in the hopes of getting her attention, since she seemingly canāt hear it from the front door.
this was caught when a woman noticed this ābabyā moving and the cry looping and called the police. again an officer was nearby and found two men hiding in bushes around her house.
4)more of an example of something very common, a young woman shared a story of when she was little many years ago. she and a friend were going to some sort of event (she was into something. she was ether part of a sports team or dance team or something to that affect, something done by her school as she was around 6-7 at the time) her mother stopped off at a grocery store real quick and left her and her sleeping friend in the car. another little girl looking to be about 4 was in a car nearby with what this girl assumed was his father. he too got out of the car and left her there, going into the store. the girl was all smiles with him, even waving to our storyteller and smiling, until the man left. once he was inside suddenly she looked scared, and was acting like she wanted her to get out of the car and come to her. she tried waking her sleeping friend to tell her about this, thinking now the man wasnāt her father but someone who was a danger to her, but her friend gave her the dirtiest look, demanded she shut up and let her sleep, and rolled over. she looked back up at the 4 year old who was now looking at the store. she too looked over and saw the man just standing right at the window smiling and encouraging her. she smiled at him and then looked back to our storyteller, with her face instantly dropping back into that scared look on her face. she refused to get out of her car, and when theĀ 4 year old looked back at the store, the man came back out, without having bought anything, gave the girl a smile and a pat and driving off, with the little girl waving at her as he drove away. after seeing this, she was convinced he was coaching her and using her to lure other children out to abduct them.
5)another example of something very common, a woman who was moving to another state and was by herself, as her fiance had gone ahead a month earlier to get things set up in the new place while she tied up the loose ends at the old one. on her way back to her car, she was stopped by a man in his truck, his passenger side between them, and asked her if she knew where a grocery store was. she said she didnāt know, as she was just stopping through on her way to a new place. he then said something along the lines that this was a nice place to stop on a trip with the family, and she admitted she was alone. it was then when he said it was nice to meet her and reached out his hand to shake hers, but did nothing to lean out, meaning she would have to reach in the car to reach him. it was here where she realized his questions confirmed that she was alone, far from home, and unfamiliar with the area, meaning if she vanished no one would know when she vanished or where on her long trip alone, and it would be a good while before anyone expected to see her, meaning by the time anyone realized she was gone sheād be long gone.
she refused to shake his hand, stating that she was going to go, and he sped off, far too fast for her to read the license plate.
the one thing all these stories have in common, the thing thatās kept people alive, was their refusal to give in to social expectations and protecting themselves as well as the person supposedly in need. by refusing to get into her car, the op story woman saved herself from being abducted and trafficked, as did my last storyās woman, by refusing to be polite and shaking the strangerās hand.
Opās woman still attempted to help her, so you absolutely can still help someone in need, but you have to do so safely and logically, without putting yourself at risk, which is exactly what these people need you to do. while itās true a real potential victim could be screaming at your door for help or a real baby left on your doorstep thatās crying, you still have to be cautious because traffickers have no morals. there is no low they wonāt stoop to if it means catching another person.
I know it can be hard to believe a woman would do something like this to other women, and not using such chances to get away themselves, but thatās what brainwashing, Stockholm syndrome, and abusive manipulation will do to someoneās mind. we all want to trust other women and believe in that solidarity against our mutual oppression, but it doesnāt always work out like that. girl code and solidarity is important, but we also have to watch our for ourselves, because not everyone cares about that code.
OH MY &UCKING GOD!
Every time peopleās ability to find the perfect recation pictures blows me out of the water. Which in this case would be very useful.
