To expand on some things being said in the comments of the last post: I use the example of an ace/allo relationship in my desire gap post because it's where I see this the most clearly and because it was my personal experience, but: just like there are sex-positive aces, there are plenty of allo people who are sex-averse, have low libidos, or otherwise have little interest on sex. And there are many more who have a complex or fluctuating relationship with sex, whether or not they use a specific label to describe their experiences. These things are not exclusive to ace people. We need to ensure that our advocacy is about combatting compulsory sexuality and advocating for bodily autonomy and truly informed consent (the right to say no) for everyone, not just people who happen to ID as ace. It is often rhetorically useful to talk about ace experiences, but the stifling influence or compulsory sexuality is much broader than our specific community.
So, regardless of how you identify:
You can say no. Yes, to someone you love. Yes, to everything. Yes, forever. You might change your mind later. You also might not. You might decide you're interested in only specific things, or only at specific times or under specific circumstances. You might try something and decide you don't like it. You might decide that it's not worth trying anything even if you might enjoy it. Whether or not your desires ever change, you have the fundamental right to bodily autonomy and that includes having your "no" respected every single time.
There is more to a relationship than sex. There are so many different types of intimacies. Only you and the other people in the relationship get to decide what to prioritize, and it doesn't need to make sense to anyone but you. It is possible to have a committed, fulfilling (and yes, even monogamous if that's your preference) relationship where sex isn't a part of it at all. It's also possible to have a relationship where it is a small or unimportant part. Do the work to break down what you actually want, distinct from what society tells you you should want. Focus on what's important to you. If there are conflicts, treat everyone's feelings with equal importance instead of assigning blame based on who's least aligned with the societal norm.
You deserve people who will respect your needs, respect your "no"s, respect your boundaries. And these people do exist. It can be difficult to believe when you've had a lot of negative experiences and when society is telling you that you're the problem. But don't settle for someone who only respects you sometimes. If you're persistent, you will find people who love you in the way you want to be loved.

I feel like there is definitely a point to be made here that TADC was created with the intent to be an underground indie series with a style that only appealed to a select audience that by the stars aligning blew up way beyond the reach it was ever intended to, and that's how we ended up with the content farms, the weird theories and bad analyses made by people who are prioritizing views and likes, the children who've never been in a fanbase before this one and don't know how to behave etc. That I think is a valid complaint to have.
But yeah can we just take the term 'media literacy' out behind the shed already

big amatonormativity wants you to accept this as the norm but this is not how it has to be. we can push for consistent characterization in expressions of connection and affection. those characters could just kiss and not declare their undying love about it
reading this post back and realizing that i didn't get to my real point which is that maybe those guys shouldn't say that they're in love at all. i want you to look me in the eyes and tell me that you earnestly believe those guys would say "i love you". it doesn't have to be this way

I explain that often times women and girls are excluded from stories in favor of a predominantly male cast because the author doesn’t value female narrative contributions nor considers them worthy of character development in their own rights independent of the men, so the result isn’t uplifting male relationships with romantic intentions, but simply sexist writing in its most basic form.
They assure me it’s a good story.
Look inside.
It’s misogynistic.
Pre-menstrual depression is always depicted as like "He He! I had a box of icecream bars and cried while watching the Titanic!" But in reality, it's more like, "I'm standing the edge of an abyss. There is nothing good inside of me, I'm filled with rage and desperation."
It's crazy that being told how to deal with that is never a part of anyone's menstrual sex education.
This has already been said in the notes, but if PMS causes extreme depression and even suicidal ideation, that is in fact something that most people do not experience and it can be treated

I went to my doctor after I was walking to work one morning and saw a bus coming and actually took a step to throw myself in front of it before I pulled myself together. Later that day I started bleeding and was literally like someone flipped a switch and I didn't feel suicidal anymore. Which made me feel like I was loosing my mind because who goes from 'I want to throw myself in front of a bus' to 'I'm perfectly fine' just like that? I did some research, I went to the doctor and described my feelings, he looked me in the eye and gently asked what I thought it was, I said I'd read about PMDD and I thought it might be that, he said 'I think so too' and wrote a prescription.
If, before you get your period, you feel furiously angry, suicidal, irritated by every tiny thing to the point you want to murder someone, stuck in a black hole you'll never escape from. If you are experiencing extreme emotions for what seems like no good reason, especially if you get your period and those extreme emotions just go away. You're probably not just PMSing , you may have PMS's feral big sister PMDD and it's treatable.
Also this is something that can develop as you get older. So if you used to get normal PMS but what I wrote above sounds more like your norm now then don't just write it off as regular PMS.
